Flat Clouds - Cruise

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Im using the free FSWX software (VATSIM WXR Sync) with REX Sky Force. On the ground the clouds look fantastic and quite full and puffy. Climbing upto cruise however they always appear flat and horrible (please see below image):

P3DV4.5. Can anyone suggest why this happens / ways of improvement?

Thanks,

Alex

Have you tried to use the Rex weather engine to see if it causes the same issue?

Alan

That's about as good as billboard clouds can look when representing overcast conditions.

This does solve the problem but the weather changes are too drastic in Rex. EG going from a clear sky to when it updates having a full sky full of clouds. Is there any fix for this?

Do you own REX Enviroment Force?  There is a weather Smoothing function available, which improves this... not perfectly, but it is better than what REX SF does...
