October 20, 200619 yr This is my local airport EGNVFirst pic is with Mesh complexity,Mesh resolution at max settings. Second pic is the lowest settings. Any amount of adjusting these two settings results in dem coruption as seen in first pic.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159202.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159203.jpg
October 20, 200619 yr Looks like the flatten file is off a bit? If others report the same problem, then it's endemic and should be reported to MS...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 20, 200619 yr FWIW, I just went there and it's "corrupted" on my system too. Mesh resolution: 76M; Mesh complexity: 64. It was weird as the scenery looked great on the ground but as soon as I got up in the air I saw what you see... Yikes!Best regards,Jim
October 20, 200619 yr >If others report the same problem, then it's endemic and>should be reported to MS...I have seen other users posting screenshots of the same problem...On different airports.
October 21, 200619 yr This is a bug in the flatten elevation. The mildest of 4 in the world (EGNV, SAOC, SAVE, SUSO). A bug has been entered. My apologies. -Doug
October 21, 200619 yr Author Doug, thank you for your explanation and apologies.Pity I don't have the same luck on the lottery, imagine a world lottery shared amongst four. That would be worth a bit.
October 25, 200619 yr There is a fifth - NZMF - the real world elevation is 10 ft FSX has over 800 ft. Photo of the airport fourth down - http://www.helicopter.co.nz/milford.aspKNFJ probabaly doesn't count because even though the real world elevation is 102ft, the FSX elevation is 102M. Likely an error in the source data. However, this number is MUCH better than FS2004.

Likely an>error in the source data.>>However, this number is MUCH better than FS2004.In the case of the original four (EGNV, SAOC, SAVE, SUSO) there is a discrepancy between the flattening elevation and the airport elevation in our database. Our tools derive the elevation of the flatten from the airport the flatten is created for. Somehow the flatten elevation got changed which likely affected the blending dem as well. We actually did query the database for this problem prior to ship. Either these were not fixed or the problem was introduced after the query was run. These (NZMF and KNFJ) are a different class of problem where the problem lies in the source data. I'm sure there are other instances of this class of problem within FSX as these are much harder to test for. Please report these bugs as you find them (the Feedback link at the bottom of pages on www.fsinsider.com is a good mechanism).-Doug
