  1. Maybe because they have cut so much from FSX they can afford high levels of detail for a bit of ground equipment without compromising the FPS.
  2. Lets face it we ( simmers ) know that it is a flight sim and will buy it, by ommitting "Sim" from the title MS could appeal to a wider audience. " Flight " conjures all kinds of possiblities. Whereas " Flight Simulator " could appear singular and boring to some people.
  3. Flight is looking great! especially as this will be the default for those who cannot afford the many add ons ( me included ) to spruce things up in FSX. Hopefully they will improve the VC shadowing that was introduced in the FSX Preview
  4. http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/press.aspxRelevent to Flight SimmersGames for Windows Marketplace will also be the place to find iconic franchises from Microsoft Game Studios, such as “Flight Simulator,” “Gears of War,” “Halo” and “Zoo Tycoon,” as well as upcoming blockbusters “Fable III,” “Age of Empires Online” and “Microsoft Flight.”I hope they offer MS Flight on disk as well.
  5. I like what I see now and you have got me excited by the other stuff.

You could try. Aircraft Airfile Manager (Freeware)http://ootb.wordpress.com/aam/
  7. In the settings-scene library click add area, choose the scenery you want to add, click OK, right click anywhere on the white pane, that should add your scenery area to the library.Alex

When it drops into the CYYZ folder, right click anywhere in the white pane. If its the same problem that I have adding any scenery, then it should add it to the library.Alex
  9. Dont know if this helps but I had a similar problem, I could not add anything to the scenery library using Windows 7 beta, upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium, after picking up the scenery and clicking OK it would take me down a level to the scenery folder, but not add anything into the library. Someone on the web advised me to click anywhere on the background where the scenery folder resides, it would then add it to the scenery library. Weired! Sorry if it's not the same problem.Alex
  10. Definitely NOAlex

I have the same problem, I cannot add any thing to the scenery library since upgrading to Windows 7. BetaAs a test I deleted a airport scenery which I rarely use and am unable to add it back to the scenery library. BTW I always turn off UAC
  13. Same here still locked at eight.
  14. I have just upgraded my sons computer Asus P5KC,Intel quad Q6600 @2.4 Ghz, 4 Gig Crucial 1066 ram, Ati 3870, Vista Home premium 64 bit.FSx is a dream, fast, smooth and no blurries with Horizons photo scenery at over 500 kias. A wonderful experience.
  15. Maybe not the ideal solution, but in my case, I have found that by lowering my graphics settings to what I would normally use, helped me a great deal. So much so that I have resorted to using the lower graphics all the time. As after every landing I do a replay. In tower view or flyby I now enjoy uninterrupted fluidity.
  16. I have only tried the freeware picnic textures ie grass, being old and reckless, I relied on the program to make any necessary backups. As I was undecided about the textures I uninstalled the program, and did not encounter any problems with the program replacing the original textures at all. Like I've said I'm old and reckless.
  17. DX10 is not available on XP. Contrary to many reports. Anyone heard from Alky lately :-).That made me giggle.
  18. 1- The idea of having to use 3DsMax replacing Gmax on VNext. Not only killing present freeware developers off, this will certainly restrict the opportunity for people even those with artistic talents, access to the basic functions of 3DSMax. 3DSMax has been the industry standard for many years, and until GMax was released, the only legal way a person could use 3DSMax would be to work for a company who had a licence, unless of course that person could afford 3DSMax. With the demise of GMax surely this will drastically reduce new talent. There are many developers who have cut their teeth on GMax but will have very little opportunity to ascend to 3DSMax
  19. I am quite pleased with Accelleration SP2, for me it is a much smoother experience, flying over GENX Scenery at 200 KIAS, less blurries, definitely an improvement.Asus P5GD1 ProP4 3 GhzRadeon X800 GTO
  20. To throw another one into the mix, I force 4x AA and 16x AF through the CCC. In FSX I have the AA checkbox ticked and anistropic selected. Although my system is not the new kid on the block I am highly satisfied with the performance and quality with these settingsAsus P5GD1 ProP4 3 GhzRadeon X800 GTO
  21. Hi Paul,I note your surname "Lazarus". I use Lazarus for my user name because he is one of my favourite biblical persons.
  22. With the 7.5 and FSX the stutters have returned, and I can't access Second Life, gone back to 7.4s. Can't access Second Life on 1600 Pro as wellAsus P5DG1ProP4 3 Ghz 6301 Gig RamRadeon x800 GTO
  23. It seems we won't have to wait very long for the updated SDKs.http://blogs.technet.com/torgo3000/
