Pop out Window GTN 750 P3d V5

Recommended Posts

I am using the 750 with the A2A v35, in vr , is there a way to assign the pop out window to a joystick button to pop it in and out.

Thanks,

Scot

In all my airplanes, I move the the GTN window to Window01 in the panel.cfg file.

I also have assigned one of my yoke buttons to shift+2.

That way, the yoke button pops up my GTN window in any airplane I fly..

Was about to post. Bert was faster.

Just to make it clear:

Goto Options Key Assignments and select Your Joystick.
On search write Panel Window
DoubleClick on the one You need and Press the Joystick button You want to assign.
As Bert wrote try modifying Your panel config files to make
[Window00] to [Window09] the same on all planes, so they display the same popup You want, like the GPS's

Thanks for the speedy reply, it's a bit over my head as to how to edit the config file. I am new to p3d.

Welcome on board!

Ramon described how you can assign a yoke button to a Panel Window command in P3D:  Options/Key Assignments.

The complication arises because a2a will put your GTN popup in Window14 or such (after the last window).. and you can only assign Window00 through 09 to a key or button.

Have a good look at your a2a V35 folder and find, first the panel folder, and then within that folder, the panel.cfg file  (you can also simply search for it..)

The panel.cfg file is a text file and can be edited, using Notepad, or another text editor.

If you get stuck, report back and we will see if we can help you further..

This is entirely your choice, but as I indicated, I use Window01 for all my planes..

Once you have the panel.cfg open in Notepad, you swap the Window01 section with the Window13 section and change the Window numbers as well...

So you end up with something like:

[Window01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=100,100
window_pos=0.675781,0.000000
window_size=0.324219,0.548611
visible=0
zorder=99
ident=15752

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,100,100

Then you save and reload the airplane.

Shift+2 should now open the GTN window.

Hi,

you can also use the RXP documented keyboard shortcuts to toggle the window, whichever [window##] the gauge is configured with!

OK.. back to basics..

1. You are using the RXP GTN 750 in your a2a V35 airplane, correct?

2. If so, locate the panel.cfg file for that airplane.

3. Open it with a text editor such as Notepad

I would expect to find:

[Window Titles]
Window00=Main panel
Window01=Clipboard
Window02=Mini controls
Window03=Payload and fuel manager
Window04=Map
Window05=Quick radios
Window06=Maintenance hangar
Window07=Pre-flight inspection
Window08=AFK
Window09=none2
Window10=dbg
Window11=none3
Window12=none4
Window13=none5
Window14=GTN 750

......

[Window14]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=100,100
window_pos=0.675781,0.000000
window_size=0.324219,0.548611
visible=0
zorder=99

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,100,100

.....

[VCockpit03]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$gps
background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0,284,627,735,NO_BEZEL

Do you have something different?

If so.. post it here..

Just checked the User Manual... cannot find it in the Keyboard Shortcuts section..

Can you provide a joystick button example???

@Bert Pieke It is a keyboard shortcut (p10):

TOGGLE_WINDOW_1 and TOGGLE_WINDOW_2

Assign a keyboard shortcut to these, and it will toggle the popup window whichever window the GTN (or GNS V2) is configured with. This requires a ident= entry (whatever the number)

I still do not understand.. can you explain one more time?

Does it require a popleft or right setting?  Which ident=  entry..?

And how do we now link the joystick button, as was asked by the OP?
