June 19, 20205 yr @Bert Pieke in the panel.cfg file, every [Window##] sections can have an ident = entry. These are unique identifiers you choose to set a window to. You can use default names (such as MAIN_PANEL, RADIO_STACK_PANEL, GPS_PANEL) or integer values. The TOGGLE_WINDOW_# keyboard shortcut works only if the [Window##] section, which is configured with the GTN (or GNS V2) has a valid ident= entry. This entry I believe is mandatory but I've seen a few panel.cfg without lately, and I'm not sure this is an error in the panel.cfg file, or a relaxed rule in the SDK. Nevetheless the keyboard shortcut function won't work if there is none. Now how do you link the Joystick button it is up to you! Whether you can do it directly with the simulator provided functions (P3D5?) or, you use a 3rd party tool allowing you to bind a hardware button of any sort to a keyboard shortcut. NB: such tool might come standard form the joystick manufacturer sometimes). Speaking of keyboard shortcuts, It is easier in X-Plane: the plugin creates a new command with a name, the X-Plane joystick configuration interface lists all these commands, and you can bind what you want. It is all supported in the X-Plane SDK. However, we're offering this facility in FltSim products because unlike X-Plane, there is no provision for 3rd party vendors to "publish" their own set of new commands in the simulator. If you're aware of better ways please just let me know and I'll see what we can do! Edited June 19, 20205 yr by RXP
June 19, 20205 yr Nice to know it is easier in XPlane... 😉 Unfortunately, the original request is still best solved by moving the GTN popup window to the range that can be assigned in the sim, as best I know. Anyone with other solutions.. please jump in! 🙂 Bert
