You are 60% of the way there..

In the addons app, you have to scroll down and also substitute the VC version of the GTN.  And, remember to select the "No Bezel" setting for the VC gauge.

I have done it on mine, and it does work!

Still no luck I have tried various ways but still get the default gps in cockpit view or a black screen, selecting shift +1 brings up the gtn 750 pop up which works ok, let’s start again first what do I select in the just flight cockpit selector and then what do I select in the rxp addons.

Finally got it installed, I didn’t realise you had to switch units in DR400 panel state.

Please review the panel.cfg and any 5th parameters when the rxpGTN!GTN_xxxxxx lines appear. Is there any?

This is in my panel.cfg folder, as a comparison:

[Vcockpit06]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$GTN750
background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,677,794,NO_BEZEL

                                             ^
                                             |
[ RXP: this is the 5th parameter ------------

@jimimac before manually changing the 5th parameter, can you please report what it was set to, if any?

I also have these in my panel config, don't know if this is correct

[Window00]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=456,378
position=8
visible=0
ident=50
window_size=0.5

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,456,378,NO_BEZEL

[Window07]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=937,887
ident=14401
zorder=99
gauge00=F1GTN!GTN750,  0,0,937,887,UNIT1.POP
window_pos= 0.660, 0.160
window_size= 0.340, 0.580

[Window08]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=937,390
ident=14403
gauge00=F1GTN!GTN650,  0,0,937,390,UNIT1.POP
window_pos= 0.660, 0.740
window_size= 0.340, 0.260
zorder=99

[Window09]
size_mm=255,1039
Position= 0
window_size= 0.058, 0.243

gauge00=F1GTN!GTNStack,  0,0,255,1039

Delete the gauge line in Window00.

It does not belong there..

Do you have an RXP GTN popup window?

If not.. edit  Window07

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,937,887

And for the remaining F1GTN lines, I would disable them by adding // to the beginning of the gauge lines.

My guess is that you selected the GTN panel after whatever changes you had made, which would have reset the panel to the F1 GTN..

The actual sequence matters, unfortunately.. 😉
