June 18, 20205 yr Flybe still causing Loganair issues, even after the former's demise.https://news.stv.tv/north/planes-collide-on-tarmac-at-aberdeen-airport?top Theories are that the Dash's brakes failed or it jumped the chocks during an engine run-up. June 19, 20205 yr It appears that the engine strut on the Embraer is robustly engineered... 😎 Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. June 19, 20205 yr I have another theory... I was headsetting that very same Loganiar Embraer out of EGCC a few months back, and whilst chatting to the pilots about FlyBe's (then) potential demise, we were remarking on the sorry state of a FlyBe Dash 8 on a nearby stand since it had been left there with its cowlings open and ladders strewn all over the stand. And guess what? That Dash 8 was Charlie Kilo, the one right there in this incident. So I reckon CK took offence at our comments and waited for its chance to ram the cheeky Embraer. 🤣 On a more serious note, the problem is that with no service agents to take care of the FlyBe planes whilst they are embargoed, nobody is looking out for the risk of potential incidents. That's why the one I showed a photo of a few months back had spun around on a stand at Manchester in high winds, because nobody had the responsibility of storm chocking it. June 19, 20205 yr As this took place at my "local field" I can say that it's the most movement there has been there in weeks....I think the poor Flybe just wanted to get to the runway and fly! No official word on cause so I won't speculate but there are some theories.
