QualityWings 787 V Speeds

Recommended Posts

Hi,

On QW 787, I set the V speeds in the FMC (used the EFB to generate them, sent them to FMC and then accepted them).

However, they're not appearing on the speed tape on PFD during take off? I get a "V1" callout (even though it's not on PFD) and nothing else (no "rotate" or "positive rate of climb").

I used to get them, now they've disappeared...can anyone help?

Thanks,

Ben

Did you initialize the flight in the EFB?

Check on the bottom right of the menu page (opening page).

I didn't do this, I just loaded the aircraft from the main P3D menu.

I've never seen this button before...what does it do? Would this be a reason V speeds aren't showing?

Yes. Once your flight plan is loaded you must initialize the flight.

Ah ok (I've never done this!).

Do I do this before programming the FMC etc?

Complete the flight plan in the fmc first

I did this...programmed the FMC, initialised flight on EFB, used FMC data on EFB to generate V speeds, sent data back to FMC, clicked accept on FMC...all the speeds are displayed on the FMC, 'No V Speed' disappears from PFD. I get a 'V1' call out, but no V speeds are marked on the speed tape.

Very frustrating as they were all working before. Any ideas?

Just a thought off the top of my head. Reduce V1 by 10 knots, “hand jam” it in to use the proper slang. Does the V1 display now?  That would point to a display issue if VR and V1 are too close to display both.

Here is what I see.  if V1 & VR are within 3 KTS ( V1 = 137, VR = 140) you will only see VR.  If the split is at least 4 KTS 136/140 then you can see VR.

I can't remember what the actual 787 looks like, I think when V1 & VR are that close ( which is often) it just a jammed up mess and the V1 & VR overlap.

As far as the FMC Init needed, as long as the waypoint flight plan has already been loaded, just enter the weights, cg, thrust limits, etc for Initialization and you will get the VSPDs.

PC=9700K@5Ghz+RTX2070  VR=HP Reverb|   Software = Windows 10 | Flight SIms = P3D, CAP2, DCS World, IL-2,  Aerofly FS2

I did all that and I used to get all the V speeds before.

Now, I get a V1 callout and nothing after that.

So frustrating as tonight, piloted out a 78X and stall warning after takeoff as I didn't know what the VR speed was.

Also, I can't seem to find the uninstall to get rid of the programme...?!
