ATC randomly stops responding.  Even simple "callsign radio check" doesn't work anymore.  The work around is to completely  Exit out of P2A app and restart it.  Then everything works as expected.  I am not finding any pattern that causes this.

It sounds like you're hitting a program bug that is shutting down ATC or possibly some other glitch.

If you send your P2A log file for a flight where this happens, to me at [email protected], I will have a look and see if I can figure it out.  

P2A Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name. 
Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab.

It appears you did not file a flight plan before calling the Center controller for clearance.  That seems to be what led to the error.

What airport were you at?

I can't remember if I did or not.  Today was the worse day.   A lot of voice module crash in VNKT and surrounding area after I file a plan. 

I think it would be better if you can provide us with a button "Report and Upload logs" in the P2A client and will it upload the flight plan, current location, log files and other debug info to a S3/Google drive that you can collect and analyze.

Thanks for the log file you emailed.  In order for an IFR flight to work, you must:

• File an IFR flight plan
• Begin the flight from the Departure airport of the flight plan

If you are trying to recover mid-flight from a crash, you must:

• File an IFR Flight Plan
• Be physically established on the route of the filed flight plan
• Make an initial call to Departure, Center or Approach 

In your case, it looks like you started in mid flight near KLAS  tower, did not file a flight plan and started by telling tower you were inbound for an RNAV approach.  Since you didn't have an IFR flight plan filed, tower assumed you were flying VFR and told you to squawk 1200.

If you had asked for radar vectors to the RNAV approach to runway 19R, the program might have been able to figure out what you wanted and start giving vectors for the approach.

Yes, I was VFR, no flight plan.  I've done this many times before and it usually works.  This is what I typically say:

Inbound at 5,800, RNAV Approach, Runway 19R

I think that always works (except last night).

So, you are saying I should use this phrase:

Inbound at 5,800, Request Radar Vectors for RNAV Approach, Runway 19R

Right?  

I was having so many other problems with P2A at this point that I was just trying things.   

BTW, one of the problems I forgot to mention to you was, in addition to no sectional,  my frequencies window had only a Center Controller,  no KLAS tower or any of the other frequencies I normally see.   I am using Beta 17 but have used it without P2A problems until last night.   This sudden trouble is what made me think it was a network/server problem.   If I was having a network problem, that would affect the sectional,  Terps, and maybe frequencies too?   All I know is,  P2A had been working pretty well (Beta17) until last night.   Haven't tested today yet.
