Bing Maps outdated airports

Featured Replies

Bing Maps has some severely outdated airports. For example, Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, Armenia appears to be in a pre-2011 construction phase judging by the construction on the terminal on Bing Maps. Has Asobo updated these airports?

I haven't checked those airports and couldn't say if I had, but I can discuss what's public. The Airport Feature Discovery Series shows that they use orthos to build the airports from. If it's in Bing, that's what they build from.

There's just no possible way for them to garner individual data about all 37000 airports and keep them up to date. Airports are constantly being expanded.

I hope that the World Update they mentioned in their last roadmap is about Bing updates.

Bing will no doubt be continually updated, but I wouldn't count on them going back and fixing airports. Hopefully the community can do that like they do with XP11.

I was more thinking about scenery in general. But yeah, a scenery gateway with high quality objects and a proper editor would be awesome. I'd be happy if they allow freeware development in general. Would be awesome if that stuff was even available via the marketplace. I know, for now they only take selected devs. But maybe they will open that up for freeware. Could boost the popularity of MSFS.

There is a shot of KSFO from an early Featured Episode series video that is outdated, it's missing the Terminal 1 (?) extension.

So yeah some airports will be outdated it looks like.

This goes for major U.S. cities too..

Philadelphia is completely missing the Comcast Technology Center.. This isn't some new minor random point of interest either. It's a 60 story skyscraper completed in 2018 and the tallest building in Philadelphia.

With all due respect, Charlotte is among the top 20 cities in the USA so not a minor city. It is the #2 banking capital in the USA, but as those living in the area we are not insecure and look forward to Microsoft fixing all the key cities in the USA as well as other countries.  I find the simulator a work and progress with no complaints.  I look forward to all of the sims possibilities.
