August 1, 20205 yr Hi, I wanted to ask for advice on uninstalling P3D4. I will have to uninstall P3D4 from my primary pc to install it on a secondary pc. Should I also remove the license? So can I install it on the secondary PC or lose the license without being able to install it forever? Thank you.
August 1, 20205 yr All that does when it asks you about removing the license, is make it possible for you to change where P3D is installed to a different machine, since you cannot install P3D on two machines with one licence. It doesn't mean you can't reactivate that licence on the other machine. You've bought a licence, it's not going anywhere and is listed in your account on the P3D website, so don't worry about it. August 1, 20205 yr The licensing server at L-M will not let you activate on another PC until the license is released from the old one. That release is done by uninstalling with an active internet connection and answering "no" to the question of whether to keep the license on the machine for another installation. So if your intent is to move the license off the original PC, then you don't want to keep the license active there--that's a convenience offered only for reinstallations on the same hardware. If you uninstall the main P3D App (e.g. Prepar3D v4 Academic) the uninstaller will not ask you anything about your license since it will be automaticaly removed / deactivated from your machine. A new installation will mean that you will have to reactivate the license which can be done on any PC 2. If you uninstall by component (Prepar3D v4 Academic Client), the installer "thinks" that you will probably install a newer version of the client and thus will ask you if you want to deactivate the license or not.....
