October 25, 200619 yr I believe what is going on with my system is that FSX is splitting up it's work load so that it takes longer than a frame but the main stuff like the aircraft and the terrain are being updated every frame. So in full screen mode I get the feel of 30 FPS but it is reporting 16. When I switch to windowed mode my 16 feels like 16 and it is crap.If your computer is faster then and everything is updated in one real directx frame then the counters will agree. I believe this explains why people say it feels smoother than the displayed FPS and others don't have that impression.I have some tweaks applied that I am going to undo to see if it changes what is displayed (ie. the fiber tweak).Bruce

October 25, 200619 yr ATK is the first 3 letters of my last name, so I am not Bruce Artwick.Hearing the mention of Bruce Artwick makes me think of the first screen shot of Flight Simulator that I saw for an Apple II. I remember making my first approaches to Miegs on my friends IBM PC with 160k floppies and 64k ram and $1000 color monitor. My own first copy of Flight Simulator on an Atari 800 getting about 6 FPS. My best memory is taking off in a Lear Jet from Oakland on the Atari ST version of Flight Simulator. The sound of that take off made me really realize how far it had come in just a few short years. I couldn't wait to see what the next 10 years would bring. That Atari ST experience was 20 years ago and the PC experience was 25. It's amazing how inexpensive stuff is today compared to the big dollars spent back then. My friends $3500 investment in his IBM PC in 1982 is an unbelievable sum especially when you consider what that $3500 would be worth today. Bruce
October 25, 200619 yr I'm getting same FPS +- 3FPS... FSX counter jumps around alot while the one with ATI Tray Tools seems to be more consistant....
