I am saddened by your trouble, but happy that I am not the only one having this problem.I appreciate the comments made by the 2 Aces team members that this should not be happening. But, unfortunatly it is! Calling support as they have suggested is not really the answer. I tried support again today to let them know that I was "reporting" a possible bug... or at least a possible problem. They were not interested because (I believe) they truly are not trained well enough to handle a "new situation". By that I mean, if it is not in the material that is avaiable to them, they are not able to solve the problem. Which as anyone knows, who works in IT, is an invaluable skill. The "book" don't always contain the answer.
October 25, 200619 yr To support my claim that support is not equiped to handle new situations, I have copied a "chat support" session I had last night as well. Pleas not Raghavendra response about a piece of software I just updated on my computer. He was told by his "supervisor" to tell me that by installing that software, it changed my computer's hardware ID, which in turn, caused FSX to think it was being installed on a new computer... or words to that effect. Here is that session...The session has been accepted. {Raghavendra} Hi Murray. Thank you for using Microsoft Games online Chat Support. My name is Raghav and I will be helping you today. {Murray Wheten} ok {Raghavendra} How are you doing today, Murray? {Murray Wheten} good {Raghavendra} Good to know that, Murray. {Raghavendra} Please give me 2-3 minutes while I go through the problem description in the case notes. If we get disconnected I will follow up with you in email. {Murray Wheten} info is correct {Raghavendra} Okay Murray. I
October 26, 200619 yr This was taken from another Avsim post this afternoon, so it's not mine, and I make no claim to inventing it - it apparently came from MS support (or one of the Aces, can't remember) BUT - IT WORKED AS CLAIMED for me. Thank you whoever posted it! - pj"To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then OK. 2. Expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCURRENTCONTROLSETCONTROLCLASS{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}3. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side. 4. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr, and then click OK.5. Close Registry Editor, reboot your computer and then try to use the activation wizard. After reboot - if Multiplayer is present in the menu system - it is activated. For those of you that don't know, BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY !!!!! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
