October 27, 200619 yr I think the most important parameter as far as stutters go is the poolsize number.Yours is set at 1000000 (1 million), but I believe the recommended value was actually 5000000 (5 millions). I've also seen users setting it at 10mln and I personally use 2500000 (2,5 millions) with good results.Another anomaly is the "texture max load= 512". I may be wrong but I thought that specific tweak was for FS9 only, and anyway the recommended values were 8 or 10, much different from what you have.Cheers,Pietro.
October 27, 200619 yr Both Pool Size & Fiber are tweaks posted here at Avsim & elsewhere. Your standard FSX config will not have them, you need to add them manually.Jim
October 27, 200619 yr You do need to add those lines and values manually, do a search and you will see what heading they go under. Also be carefull with the poolsize value, I started at 10000000 and went back down to 5000000 because of stutter issues. The reason tweaking this game is so hard is because all of us have different setups - hardware wise, we run windows with different tasks in the background (I have only 20 running) and we all have sliders going in different directions. It will be a game of chance almost to get it right, but I do know that fiber frame, texture bandwidth, and poolsize all seemed to affect each other so pay careful attention to them, without messing with the sliders too much. Once you get it right, start playing with sliders, as you know you have something pleasing to you, to fall back on. Just my two cents...Danon O.
October 27, 200619 yr For me it was adding another gig of memory. Now I have two paired 1Gb Corsair TwinX sticks in my Gigabyte K8NF-9 motherboard and have no stutters anymore. Before it was a nightmare, there were not just stutters, but long pauses. Unflyable. No tweak helped. I just landed at EDDF with 50% traffic (UT modded traffic ported from fs9) in a BAC 1-11 and fps were between 12-15. Perfectly flyable.Scenery and Autogen at Extreme (default.xml disabled), etc...Athlon 64 3500+ATI X850XT PE 256MbRegards,Jure
October 27, 200619 yr Danon, We have very similar system specs. Im curious what your average framerates are, both locked and unlocked, and what areas of the world you are flying in?Thank you for any comments.RichIntel P4, 2.4 GHz2 GB DDR ramATI x1300 512 (AGP)80 GB HD160 GB external HDAudigy 2 Sound

I've tried texture max load 512... seemed to help before, but now doesn't seem to make a differance...
October 28, 200619 yr Im locked at 30fps, and see 30 held all the way, down to around 18 in urban...seattle, heathrow, houston, dallas,etc... I spend alot of time in Texas/La/NC/Tenn.So its the blue ridge parkway, urban in greater houston coming out of intercontinental or urban in dallas. Also liking flights in and out of denver to Las Vegas. I have noticed nothing I do not like. I have the settings right where I stated, and am going to change the mesh detail and resolution in a few minutes and see how that goes. You can send me an email at [email protected] for quicker help, we do have very like systems, so Im sure we can get something working for you. Let me know.Danon O.
