August 19, 20205 yr A feature I've used in P3d with FSUIPC, and natively in DCS, is using a button on my controller as a modifier button so I can assign multiple actions to the another button. For example, if I hold down button 2 on my stick, pressing button 1 performs a different action than when button 2 is not pressed. I've not been able to find this functionality natively within MSFS, but I was wondering if anyone had been able to find it. If not, I'm more than happy to send a few bucks to the Dowsons. 😀
August 19, 20205 yr I'm dying to know this too. I have TM Warthog HOTAS and I used to use their Target software to configure buttons and modifiers. It's ok but quite a pain process to setup. Now I switched to MSFS native controller setup which I found overall is a joy to use. The only thing I'm missing is the modifier button functions. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

I have a friend using an X52 and I know the pinkie button on the stick base can be set in the Saitek software as a modifier (Shift) button but he didn't seem to have it setup that way Furthermore even though there is native Saitek yoke support it doesn't recognize mode switch 😞 Edited August 19, 20205 yr by Gaiiden Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
August 19, 20205 yr I tried once in MSFS but it didn't seem to work. I'll try again. Edited August 19, 20205 yr by FlyIce 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
November 28, 20205 yr I find that some of the keys work as modifiers, but I can't use some for specific controls. Like, I can't seem to set one for mixture control on the gamepad. I use the trigger and bumper buttons as modifiers, and it works great until I try to bind an axis, then it goes all wonky. It's a shame, because otherwise it's made the gamepad pretty viable.
November 28, 20205 yr Yes, you will notice in the programming screen when you are mapping a function it says 'press key or key combination'. I think this will do what you want. MarkH https://www.youtube.com/@AlmostAviation AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / 64Gb DDR5 / Zotac RTX 5070 Ti / 2560 x 1440 display
