Citation Longitude: simple DirectTo and PROCs

Featured Replies

I've found out I am able to perform a simple Direct To an airport (while in sim and without the flight planner pre-flight), and load an approach via PROC.  I can see the data, it's all there, even fairly current RNAV(GPS) approaches are available.  So we know that NAVBLUE is providing the data.  Question is why can't Asobo make it work correctly?  It could be very powerful such as how XP11 does it.  You can even get current data.

Anyway after I loaded one RNAV approach, I tried doing a DirectTo a new airport (which worked fine) but it wouldn't load and activate an approach there....  and I couldn't remove the old waypoints...argh!

It's a start I guess....about as powerful as the old FSX G1000/530

This is after loading DTO a new airport (KAXN) then selecting an approach (it's there!) but wouldn't load it GAH!

Thanks Ryan, yes, I've been happy that I can plop in a direct to, or even a full flight plan (how I have to in the real plane - painfully with the knobs on the G1000) so that I don't have to end a flight after only one leg, but you're right, the behavior of activating a procedure or even activating the VTF function don't sequence correctly. If you haven't already, a thorough write-up into zendesk is a good idea. I did one a couple weeks ago, but you may be able to add details that I didn't add (mine was specific to the G1000). These should be "easy" or at least reasonable enhancements for the dev team to make to these avionics.

Another item I noted for the G1000 is that when you look at a FPL, in the real world if you scroll to a waypoint, you can hit the Direct To button and go direct to that waypoint and resume the flight plan from there. This will be critical for Vatsim IFR navigation. This does work in the Citation CJ4 FMS, except that on that FMS, the arrival proedure fixes don't appear in the LEGS screen, so you can't go to a fix on the STAR.

Yes, PLEASE go hammer this in Zendesk. It has been reported already ....a lot. But you know what they say about squeaky wheels.

These additions to the GPS functionality would go a long way into making the default airplanes usable.

+1000 !! My biggest problem is, we have reported similar issues in Alpha and Beta a hundred times. Were they taken care off? Not really. That is why my biggest concern is, yes, they are willing to listen to us, yet, they don't know, how to fix it !!

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

Hmmm.  Me thinks it's best for folks not to use these nav systems in Vatsim IFR the timebeing.  Maybe file as a /A and do it the old ways.  Yeeeeeeeesh.

Well, there's always the old "unable" if they ask us to do something we can't 😉

But yes, old school is also an option
