August 20, 20205 yr Hello to you all I have just bought P3Dv5 as an upgrade from v4. Can somebody tell me 1. Does this initial download include any hot fixes? 2. Is DX12 an integral part of the download or do I have to download separately? 3. Can I use my v4 ORBX products in v5 or do I have to repurchase them. If they are indeed compatiible, what is the procedure for the reinstall? I vaguely remember seeing an article where I had to copy my P3Dv4 ORBX library for P3Dv5. I have actually made a new folder (P3Dv5) and copied all the v4 folder contents into it. I have no idea if this is the correct thing to do and would dearly love some help. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). RAM 32gb Corsair Vengeance (2x16) 3200mhz. 1 x Gigabyte Aorus GTX1080ti Extreme and a 1200watt PSU. 1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.
August 20, 20205 yr 1. All the current hotfixes are included in the P3Dv5 download from LM (currently HF2). They do not publish patches, but rather full new versions. 2. DX12 is part of Win 10. No action needed on your part...it's already there. 3. Most of the ORBX stuff for v4 works in v5, and you don't need to repurchase. You'll need the latest ORBX Central version. I recommend using the installer rather than just copying from v4. And be aware that some of the scenery is not compatible (e.g. Idaho Falls, Telluride, etc). Details on their support forum. August 20, 20205 yr Author W6kd That is incredibly good to know and thank you so very much for the info. I really was unsure about the install, particularly if the p3dv4 files were copied over. It actually make more sense to install using ORBX Central. Again, thank you mate. Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). As Bob mentioend Orbx Central is your friend. Also note that when you open Orbx Central up, there is a P3D sim verison selection. You can also create a separate library for your Orbx v5 sceneries that can remain separate from your v4 sceneries should there be difference between the two versions e.g. scenery exclusions . August 21, 20205 yr Author aldridgem, Thank you mate, I have to admit my bad here. I sorted this out very shortly after W6kd responded, thanks to his advice and followed that up with no further response. (I was too busy actually enjoying my new sim LOL) So, with apologies to you both and gratitude for your responses, I shall call this one sorted. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard.
