August 22, 20205 yr It's big, You`ll need 3 slots for 1 card, And most discerning is a lot of you will need a bigger case. That's if you can afford to buy one(3090 is a Titan). But it gives you an idea of how big the 3080 will be. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/photos-of-flagship-geforce-rtx-3090-ampere-surface.html Edited August 22, 20205 yr by RW1

It`s one big *&%^$^*^🤣
August 23, 20205 yr Author @Richard Sennett I`m still procrastinating on starting my build, Going to attempt the delid tomorrow.. Good luck with yours Buddy.

Look forward to your pics, I might think about doing a video on the delid process.... wheres my gopro 🤔

Had my new system built at Microcenter and got it home today. 2 1/2 hours driving each way due to weekend recreational traffic navigating the Chesapeake Bay bridge each direction. 5+ hours on the road with a lot of swearing at other drivers. Then home, Proceeded to install my 4 TB HD (Megascenery). FSX-SE will go into this system as well as MSFS until the MSFS smoke clears. Easy to position SSD's in this Coolermaster Mastercase H500M case. Butt fumed and cussed trying to figure out how to remove the shroud that covers the 3.5" bay area. Finally figured out which opposite side fastener was holding it. Had to remove two cosmetic cable management covers on that side to find it. Finally got the drive physically installed and then spent I bet an hour trying to get those cosmetic cable management covers back in place. Struggling with the cables! ^%$%$#@$$%^^ !!! Had to have the helping hands of my wife and a small flashlight in my mouth. My words during that not allowed here! Where is my magnetic screwdriver? Finally success! Just hope I didn't screw anything up in the struggle. Totally spent. Stress & anxiety, which also feels physical. Drained! I built all of my own systems from about 1988 till 2010. Looking at everything in this system boggles my mind. Would have expected more simplification and streamlining. New specs in my signature. Putting software installation off until Monday. Need to take a deep breath. Tomorrow is Indy 500 day this year and though I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, I am a native Hoosier. So appears to have more than adequate room for a 3-slot wide GPU if I ever spring for that. The case has plenty of room. After my struggle late today I cannot give the H500M case high marks. Cable management is a great thought for a case with glass panels on both sides. Great interior volume for cooling but the dimensions didn't work out well with the heavy cables from the power supply. The forward management shroud is too far forward to route relaxed cables. Difficult to get those cables under the shrouds and get the shrouds in place. So holding my breath for Monday when I will fire it up. Also not happy with the front panel on the case. Comes free to easy. Concerned about how well it will hold up over the next 3 - 5 years as it will need to be removed to clean the screen and the fans just inside. Unlike my previous Coolermaster Mastercase 5, this H500M does not have secure areas for lifting it from the floor to a table for necessary maintenance. The rear is secure, but there is nothing on the front other than under the front cover, and as mentioned the front cover is just not secure enough. Sharp looking case Frank - you will work it out sounds like you have the know how - that case wasnt cheap - pretty expensive Yah power wires can be a pain - I think you should be fine - if its binding a little give it a push a bit maybe relieve some pressure Heres my case Fractal Define 7 XL - light glass - not a fan of dark glass this is not my build just a picture of it 🙂 Had to tweak top fan mounts - weird they had it so rad was towards the front and the right hand side rad towards the back that wasnt going to work with my distribution plate Rich Sennett
