August 23, 20205 yr Hi guys, has anyone had any issues with TrackIR disconnecting mid-flying? Happened to me a few times now. All of a sudden, TrackIR stops recognizing FS2020. It can recognize the TrackClip just fine though (I see the light coming off and on, on the actual physical tracker unit). Restarting the TrackIR software makes no difference either. The only "solution" is to actually restart FS2020, which isn't too much fun on longer flights. Any ideas? Never happened to me in any other game.
August 23, 20205 yr It's an interference between Mouse, Keyboard and TrackIR. Try re-plugging your USB devices in to different USB slots. I know - sounds wierd - but trust me. There's an order to these things. No magic formula I'm afraid - your rig ain't my rig. Just experiment; Mouse in this one, Keyboard in this one, Controllers in these ones, TrackIR in this. . . and so on. Keep switching them out until you get no Interferences. Once you get it right - your problems are behind you. Edited August 23, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese
August 23, 20205 yr If you're using a USB hub, try plugging TrackIR directly into the computer, no hub. I suspect MSFS is sensitive to such things with TrackIR. Just a guess though. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
August 23, 20205 yr Yes I have an issue whereby it's smooth and working great then for no reason it flips upside down, it is in a hub so I'll try moving to a dedicated USB port Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
August 23, 20205 yr If it flips upside down, you have a light interfering somewhere. TrackIR is sensitive to outside interference, especially reflections, and the effect can seem random. I suggest pausing TrackIR if you're lighting a cigarette. 😄 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

My guess is that it related to the generic SimConnect glitches that people have reported.

When it first happened to me with MSFS, I was in a totally dark room. The ambient light issue when present shows up in the TrackIR app display as additional dots of light. This does not. The connection to the sim becomes wobbly and finally stops altogether.

I would add - that if you're flying at night - screen brightness right down, etc. just taking a drag on a cigarette will throw TrackIR out and make it skitish. BTW - has anyone worked out how to dim the G3000s in the TBM - I did an after dark flight down to France and I could barly see the runway as the screens were so bright on Final.
August 23, 20205 yr I forgot to mention this in my post above. If you don't mind a little less tracking precision with TrackIR, set the camera mode to Standard in the TrackIR app before you start MSFS. This will cut down on the amount of data being sent by TrackIR to the Sim via the SimConnect channel.
