Computer Specs - an interesting experience!

Featured Replies

Well, after several days of running MSFS and realising that my "so called MS medium specs" was not cutting the cake! I purchased a gaming machine according to the medium spec from MS. Alas, NVIDIA inform me through the GeForce Experience panel that my computer does not meet the optimum settings for MSFS! Reading the many forums on MSFS and the issues many are having with FPS, stuttering, etc, I can say that I get between 1-25FPS on low settings:( My computer specs, in my signature, are meant to allow me to run on medium, as per the information provided when I first installed and ran MSFS.

Obviously, I have now spoken to HP directly from where my computer was purchased; suffice to say I have now ordered an Omen 30L GT13-0054na Gaming PC - NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2080 TiIntel® Core™ i9-10900K (3.7 GHz base frequency, up to 5.3 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 20 MB L3 cache, 10 cores), to allow me to go from 1-25fps I am currently getting with low settings to have a better representation of MSFS.

On a note about scenery and bing maps. I live on the Firth of Forth, 5mtrs from the sea, looking at the iconic Forth rail bridge. The properties where I live and the harbour are not there, the rail bridge is not shown either, like they are with bing/google satellite imagery. EGPH is about 6 years out of date! If by magic should the sliders be maxed out on "ultra" and all appears, then all for the good in the months and years to follow.

Did you order your new rig directly form HP, or from somewhere else?

I'm also thinking of getting a new gaming PC for this new 2020 monster of the midway...

Oh  boy, buying prebuilt PC gaming rigs.😬

I guess some people really do have too much money.

UK doesn't have photogrammetry except Portsmouth and Southampton so you are at the mercy of the AI.  What the UK needs is all the POIs extracted from ORBX True Earth region and hand placed into the sim.  Similar to the London landmarks package.
