August 27, 20205 yr Colour me most impressed! 🍻 Lovely job! Not sure if any piston-powered aircraft are suitable fro Lukla, but everyone knows turboprops are. This one's a LONG way from home but looks good. Made it!! Scenery in the distance looks a little blurry down the valley ahead as I've got the LOD set to the default 4.5... Service ceiling of a Pucara is reportedly 31900 feet, where's that big mountain near here?? Found it! It was quite a nice exercise IMO having to nursemaid the Pucara up past 29000 feet. She really does run out of steam as one would expect. However, whilst I did find Lukla on the way back... I never made the landing.. 🍻 Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. August 28, 20205 yr Mark: Aerosoft Lukla has made Lukla available on default FSX, for us, to try, at least...I've lifted off and landed (making clear "virtually") the Carenado Do-220 in Lukla. It's quite hard to even find the strip and then land into Lukla (in the SIM)... Glad you made it out, safely, at least....(after all, you're now a "Pro" with "Couchevel" experience on your Resume...🙂...) (When I'd visited Kathmandu, many moons ago, I wanted to make a trip to Lukla, I recall I was trying in Tara Air....due to some reason, I could not...flight was cancelled/delayed due to bad weather, if my memory serves me right...)
August 30, 20205 yr Author UPDATE!! I never realised until I checked my startup menu that Aerosoft gave me more than just the airport: Livery manager?? Eh? Oh my days! ..... I have loads of Twotters!! It also appears that the Aerosoft Twotter is quite a comprehensive aircraft. I managed to fly around for a little bit..because it was already running when I loaded up the sim. Much to learn - lovely looking cockpit and exterior model. Don't know about the flight model, but she took off like this layman might expect of such an aircraft... Thank you Aerosoft!
