November 8, 20205 yr Even after reading this thread I could not get the latest version to point to the right directory, and it kept asking me to close the program and try again. I finally found which directory it wanted after an hour of trying. Search for a folder on your computer named vegetation which contains the 10-asobo_species.xml file. Set file explorer to show the complete path to that folder. Look for the folder in that path which contains subfolders Official and Community. That is the folder you want to put into the window of Tree Size Editor : File : Settings : Currently used path: In my case (I have Steam editiion MSFS) it was a folder named Packages. And the path put in the window was... C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages And then the editor worked. I have no idea why the designer made this part so difficult. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. November 9, 20205 yr @Fielder Doing this will be altering the original file if I'm not mistaken. It is better doing a community folder mod in this case like posted in this discussion: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/lod-problems-trees-fix-revisited/296923 Look near the end of the 1st message for a few community folder mods examples to get started.
November 9, 20205 yr Thanks, I downloaded and used those in the community folder as you suggested. Although I did reduce tree size still further after they were in the community folder. There is still no easy way to make city street trees look correct except to trim each and every tree, which of course what is done in real life.
