I think I broke the Bonanza

Flying IFR KSFO to KBOI.  11000 ft. to clear the terrain.  Of course, the Bonanza flies like an underpowered dog so I’ve got it firewalled the whole flight and I’m barely getting 130 kts.  I get about 7 mile from Boise and the engine just gives up.  Executed a successful forced landing on the highway outside of town.  First inflight emergency in all my years of flying sims.

Absolutely.  I always fly with failures on.  This is the first time I’ve ever actually seen one.

Don't feel bad.  I ran out of fuel in the DA62 yesterday on my maiden MSFS cross country flight because so intent on initiating the flight I skipped some pre-flight steps.  Flight was from Indianapolis to St Louis.  I landed on Interstate 70 just west of Vandalia, Illinois.  Troopers are now outside beckoning me out.  Think it's time for a nap....
