September 2, 20205 yr In FSX and P3d I enjoyed the spot view that doesn't change heading with your aircraft. In "normal" spot view the camera changes direction as the aircraft does. This means it is locked to the heading of the aircraft. In "fixed"chase view the camera stays on its heading. That way you can see a much more engaging view as the aircraft rolls and turns. It is also great for video footage. It seems not to be enabled in FS2020. I tried several goes in the main camera cfg file and whatever I assign to chase view the sim stays on defaults. Any ideas? September 2, 20205 yr Use the drone view, pick a fixed view, then every time you switch to drone view (I use the Insert key) that view will be there. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
September 3, 20205 yr Author Thanks, but I'm after a spot view of the aircraft, not a drone view. Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
September 3, 20205 yr Open the camera settings in sim, go to external view, then expand the quick views and one or them is chase, one is overhead, etc. You can map any of those to a keyboard or button in controls for easy access. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

Thanks cw but it doesn't change the chase view to locked heading. It always follows the aircraft heading, so if you start with the view off the left wing, if the aircraft turns right the camera does too. The beauty of the fixed lock view is that it follows the aircraft but isn't a slave to the aircraft's heading. It doesn't sound that different but it is chalk and cheese. Did you ever find a solution to this? I would REALLY ;ike to get that spot view back to how it was previously. anscad
