Is the GTX3080 with 10Gb good enough for VR?

Recommended Posts

Will 10Gb vram on the recently announced GTX3080 limit its appeal as VR card for MSFS?

i think yes, because there is not much better out there, beside the 3090 and the older 2080ti.

My 2080 super with 8GB has run everything I've tried really well on a HP Reverb G1. That includes X-Plane (Vulkan) which is certainly not as well optimised as MSFS is.

So yes, a 3080 with 10GB will be more than good enough.

Partners will certainly release 3080's with larger amounts of ram........

DLSS SDK 2.1 is out and it includes three updates:

– New ultra performance mode for 8K gaming. Delivers 8K gaming on GeForce RTX 3090 with a new 9x scaling option.

– VR support. DLSS is now supported for VR titles

10 gigs on a 3080 makes no sense to me, I have 9 on my 1070, I'll wait and see if Gigabyte & Co. release some 3080 or 3070 with an amount of vram that makes sense for the year 2020.
