G1000 direct-to for alternate waypoint

Featured Replies

I can't explain the behavior when switching direct-to waypoints.  If I'm on a direct-to to waypoint A, then midflight change it to another waypoint, it shows a secondary line on the map (two direct-to courses).  Even though I selected "activate" it does not change course or display the new direct-to waypoint on the autopilot display.  I'd be grateful if someone could point out what I'm doing wrong here.  Thanks for your help.

You did not mention what aircraft or what instruments.  There are some anomalies with the G1000 and AP in at least some aircraft.  Check out the Tips and Tricks forum here for MSFS 2020.  I posted a tip on how I believe you can perform a Direct → to a future waypoint in your flight plan.  I only have seen the flight plan active segment change accordingly when on the ground playing what-if with it, but the tip should work because the active flight segment does change.  I may get a chance to fly this afternoon to confirm.

I have not seen a double line.

I was just reading about this in the tips section.  Thank you for directing me to that thread that I often overlook.

Can you give me a link to that tip you posted? Can't find it in the Tips and tricks forum.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I had moderators remove it.  It did not work as advertised.  I found that out in subsequent flights.
