September 11, 20205 yr I have a problem of loss of power with the King Air C90 ; I am climbing to 5000 ft all engine parameters in green, RPM at 2000 and suddenly I loose all power, Torque, turbine, fuel flow at 0, RPM at 2000, with the warning in red L FUEL FLOW. I have more than enough fuel. I tried to re do the flight, same event. In XP parameters all failures are desactivated. What is going wrong thanks for help. September 11, 20205 yr Engines are fed from transfer tanks, which need to be filled by pumping fuel from the main tanks, so turn on your fuel pumps. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
September 11, 20205 yr Author Thanks for your replies You mean on the fuel management panel at the left side of Aircraft the boost pump switch left and right must be turned on during all the flight ? September 12, 20205 yr Author thanks for your answers since I am a beginner I would like to check the correct set up of fuel panel; after start up the engines should the correct positions be during take off and all the flight: transfer pump override: auto boost pump : on crossfeed : auto firewall shut off valve : open thanks for your answer. September 12, 20205 yr In an aircraft where you are not sure of the settings, I find it good to do a "start with engines running" and check the switch positions. Then restart and set them the same way during your startup procedure. John Wingold
September 12, 20205 yr Author This is what I did but Got the engine failures after, which means that starting with engines running has an error in the default settings. This is why I am asking whatbarebthe correct settings. September 14, 20205 yr I once had the same problem as the OP - I googled and found this: https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2018/october/pilot/turbine-king-air-fuel-system The C90 that Laminar models only has two tanks per side modeled - the Nacelle tanks, named fuel3 and fuel4 (which feeds the engines, about 56gal each) and the Auxilliary/wingtank combined as one other tank, named fuel1 and fuel2 (holding about 130 gal each). On startup the switches are set up "correctly". Transfer switches to Auto, Boost pumps on. You should never need to touch those. You can see on startup how the fuel from fuel1 and fuel2 gets transfered into fuel3 and fuel4. Once those are full you can see how the engines start draining the aux/wing tank combination - technically they are feeding from the nacelle tanks, but since these get instantly refilled from the aux/wing tanks, it looks like the engine is feeding from them. Once the aux/wing tank is empty, the nacelle tanks will start draining. Originally the fuel switches were not set up correctly - but Laminar fixed this.
