VFRMAP

Can we please have a VFR moving map that does not depend on Local host ?

When clicking on http://localhost:9000 or My computer IP:9000,   Myself and several others are confronted with  "Cannot reach this page. Localhost refused to connect".

Thanks

I thought there was something in the 'readme' that addressed this and how to adjust for it?

Hi,

Why are you asking here?  We are just users the same as you and we aren't responsible for it.

The best thing to do is to contact the author of VFRMap and ask him directly.

Remember this is freeware though, so ask nicely! 🙂

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The sequence is crucial. First, have a flight in progress (can be on the ground awaiting takeoff). Then start VFRmap, and finally localhost:9000. You should then see VFRmap with your plane in the correct location.

I have a feeling that many are forgetting to run the VFRMAP.exe prior to trying to connect to localhost:9000.  I remember after I downloaded the files, I followed the instructions and everything worked well.  Then one day, I tried the localhost and got the "cannot connect...." message.  I figured I was bit by the same bug as the others that couldn't connect.  Then I realised the issue.  I always run vfrmap.exe first, then localhost:9000, and it has never failed since.
