I installed p3d v5 to F:\program files and now getting some add on install issues.  I thought it was that I was not admin, but I am an admin.  I tried making  a sym link to f:\lockheed martin\p3dv5, but I still get issues creating folders and files.  admin has full control to F:.  I try running the installer as admin, but still have issues.  The error is "setup cannot create the file or folder".  In Windows Explorer I can create files and directories...  I don't see errors in the windows event logs.

Any ideas?

Try NOT installing in program files. Just make a directory F:\P3Dv5\ and put it there. W10 and P3D don't go well together in Program Files

WIndows imposes special security measures on anything in a folder whose name begins with "Program Files".  As you've already seen, it can interfere with installations, but even worse, it can cause programs that write to config or data files located there to fail or behave erratically.

Your best bet in the long run is to uninstall and reinstall in another folder as Ian suggests above.  Just moving the folder is fraught with problems, though, as each installed program is likely to have registry entries that refer to the location where it was placed by the program installer.
