September 27, 20205 yr Here is a series of screenshots, witrh REX Weather Force handling the weather. The first screenshot is Live Weather in MSFS, the rest are with REX Weather Force injecting the weather. Flight was from Paris Le Bourget to Marseille.
September 27, 20205 yr Ricardo: [Always good to see the TBM...🙂...] These screenshots are interesting and illuminating...! I do like the shots, "with REX injected weather", i.e. past the first one, especially the "overcast/fogged" ones..., but, in the daylight shots, the clouds, look different from default MSFS....Am I missing something here? Also, any thoughts for your low-visibility "in-flight" shots, as compared to MSFS default weather...? is the REX making a good impression, there, you think...(again, I do like them)...? Thanks for the (practical) comparison (and experiment)...!! This is helpful...!!

Thanks for the (practical) comparison (and experiment)...!! This is helpful...!! Sorry for the late reply. I find that the effects seem to be more "subtle" compared to MSFS. Secondly, and most importantly, REX gets the weather right at airports. When I was starting my flight at Le Bourget the Metar said rain, I loaded up default MSFS weather - no rain. Loaded up REX - it was raining. Sense of immersion jumped by 200%.

Ricardo: No worry, at all,...much appreciated the reply....🙂...btw, I caught up a bit, after 2-3 days, on our (other) FS20 Forum, looks like, a bit of a storm, on-going, there,...🙂.., and, I did locate, one thread, on REX topic, but already locked, unfortunately,....oh well...I could gather the gist from it (~20 years of SIM helps, but, I do feel for the newbies there, if any,...🙂...)...and your comments, here, helped me too...(we'll see...how things develop...all being in a flux now).. Years ago, soon after the (original) REX had come out for FSX, I'd spent weeks (thoroughly) playing/testing with it, there was, then, of course, a world of difference, to be perceived, between with and without REX, while, here, with MSFS, it is clearly a new paradigm, with already pretty good immersion factor, by default,...but, extra immersion, if you feel it, must be worth it...at least for you...! Your 3 low-visibility (REX) shots (the 3 right after the last daylight shot), fascinate me, and reflect one of my major attractions for the new SIM, rain/cloud/low-visibility etc., in the new SIM, always appear outstanding, even, by default, and, because, as a non-pilot, I especially wonder how planes can fly and land accurately under such scenarios...(see, below, a short anecdote from my personal experience). BTW, I recently did a low-2nm-visibility post, here, "10 miles of "adrenaline" in a Catalina", if you wish to take a look, for a bit of side-fun. I also, more recently, flew the MJC Q400 with 3-miles of visibility, but, your type of MSFS screenshots, here, really appeals to me...so different from what I've known, in the SIM...! And, here is the bit of memory that I often recall: After an international flight, as pax, on a Lufthansa B747 (standard -400, there was no 747-8 yet), the plane landed in a major city Airport, late night, in reduced visibility (which I didn't think was abnormal). But, when I stepped out of the Airport terminal, the Cab Driver, refused to take/drive me (just) 5 miles to my Hotel, and I could see why, I could not make out anything clearly...even within (near) eyesight, the fog was so thick, while the (huge) 747 had landed, under the same conditions, without any issues, at all, just a few minutes before. So, I had no choice but to wait several hours, in the Airport lounge, till break of morning/daylight. That was when I developed new respect for (and also got genuinely interested in) aviation and aspects such as the various ILS Categories etc...(as applicable to low-visibility flight and arrival)... Thanks again, and happy flying...!!
