Curry’s have had the yoke in a few times over the last couple of months.
you can’t pre-order, but you can request stick notice.

Another dead end. Just received the following after registering for a stock notification:

Quote

Just to say the item you asked us to email you about, Alpha Yoke & Switch Panel Flight Controls - Black & Red, won’t be coming back in stock.

What is it with sellers not getting any more stock? Are Currys and Amazon UK (not) getting their stock from the same source?

AFAIK, Aerosoft is the official European distributor for Honeycomb products (I boufght my Apha from them). They are expecting Alpha to be available early November.

They are indeed. Keeping my eye on them. Still wondering where Amazon UK and Currys are were getting theirs from if they claim it's not longer available.

Bizarrely, I am still able to ask for email notification from Currys, despite that previous "no longer available" email!🙄

Thanks. I've taken all these dates with an entire bag of salt as they have all proved to be wishful thinking up till now.

They are on the phone i use them good service, they can only sell what they have in stock and at the moment a lot of PC hardware is being delayed in shipping due to the pandemic.

I wasn't suggesting otherwise. But I've been finding the in stock dates from most computer retailers to be less than reliable this year, most likely for that very reason, which is why I won't trust their accuracy. I have also used Scan in the past. But I'll tend to put more faith in the latest in-stock date I see, rather than the nearest.

Checked my Amazon wish list - Amazon selling it again😱 Got to checkout, ready to pay.. it had been moved to my saved list as it was "no longer available from your selected seller"😡

So something Amazon said would no longer be available (and therefore they cancelled my order) was then available from them again but disappeared before I could pay. If they hadn't cancelled my original order in the first place...🤬

(Edit: And to rub salt into the wound, the price was the same as the original order they cancelled.)

I think Amazon is probably too computer-controlled, making decisions automatically rather than with human input. That may seem practical for such a large company but I think it introduces bad decision-making.

11 days later, I have now received a response from Honeycomb Support's Dave Hodges:

Quote
That is indeed unfortunate, and of course as you said this does not actually involve us - in fact it doesn't involve us even remotely.

You see, Aerosoft is the sole distributor of Honeycomb Products in Europe and they source their products directly from our factory
in Kong Kong.  Moreover, Amazon UK orders are sourced through Aerosoft, so we are completely out of the loop on this.

The best things to do is contact Aerosoft directly at:

https://helpdesk.aerosoft.com/portal/home or [email protected].

I'm truly sorry there is nothing I could do to help you, but I leave you with my very best wishes.

Interesting that Aerosoft's stock comes direct from Hong Kong.

I have become so frustrated trying to get a yoke that I've ordered the Thrustmaster Airbus pack of sidestick and throttle. Glutton for punishment, I've ordered it from... Amazon.🥴 My order says it will be here on Friday. Hmmm, we'll see...

As for a yoke, I may plead my case with Aerosoft. I may also reassess my choice of yoke, seeing as I'd at least have a throttle already if the Thrustmaster pack arrives on schedule.

Two updates:

1) I received a response from Mathijs Kok of Aerosoft.

I had copied my original message to Honeycomb:

Quote
"Hello,

I placed an order with Amazon UK (not a reseller) for an Alpha yoke on August 18th and they charged me £228.45 5 days later as per their current policy for 'pre-orders' (despite it simply being an out-of-stock item) . Now, after 6 weeks, they have cancelled my order with the following email:

"
We regret to inform you that we have been unable to source the following item:

"Alpha Flight Controls - Honeycomb Aeronautical PC"

Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available.  This item has now been cancelled from your order #xxxxxxxx.  In case you have been charged for it, payment will be refunded within 5-7 business days.

Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.

You may visit the product detail page(s) above to see if these item(s) are available from other sellers."

Aside from the anger that one of your recommended vendors has cancelled my order for a product that you have certainly not discontinued, I wonder if you are aware they are doing this to your (indirect) customers?

I now face the prospect of being a minimum of 6 weeks further back in any queue for your yoke which was to be my first purchase of a Honeycomb product, as well as likely having to pay a higher price, through no fault of your own of course. I wonder if there is anything you can do to assist me? I realise you are fighting a backlog just the same as other manufacturers. I was so looking forward to getting the yoke, likely to be followed by the Bravo and possibly the Charlie as well.

Thank you for your time"

as well as mentioning Amazon relisting and then cancelling my order again.

The response:

Quote
They are indeed not in stock but we should be able to deliver in early November. If you do an order at us you are sure to get one of the first to arrive in Europe.

With friendly greetings,

Mathijs Kok
Aerosoft Customer Support

was a little underwhelming to be honest, not addressing any of the points I'd made. Nice that they got back to be within 8 hours, considering I sent my email at 2:30am, but I still feel left in the wilderness.

2) As for the Airbus stick/throttle? Well, quelle surprise, Amazon sent the following update to my order which was said to be arriving on Friday(3 days from now):

Quote

Hello,

Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

"Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack Airbus Edition (Quadrant, T.A.R.G.E.T Software, PC)"
Estimated arrival date: November 13 2020

...

Aaarghhh! I could moan to their supplier, but I wonder who that could possibly be...🤔

MSFS is proving great for control hardware suppliers, less so for those people trying to actually obtain them!

I think I'm in a tailspin!

Another update from Amazon and I'm not sure what to believe any more:

Quote

Hello,

We have received new release date information related to the order you placed on October 19 2020 (Order# 204-6872285-2379566).

The items listed below will actually be dispatched sooner than we had originally expected based on the new release date:

Previous estimated arrival date: November 13 2020
New estimated arrival date: October 23 2020

So, it's "As we were"!

We'll see...😬
