November 5, 200619 yr Can't find this thread that had like 25 pages any more. Did it get deleted for some reason? Hopefully he hasn't flown the coop from the less tactful of the forum!
November 5, 200619 yr Searched all forums, can't find it?Tom, Chase, Asim - can you let us know what happened?ThanksGarett
November 5, 200619 yr Hmmm.. well, unless I fat fingered something, it was here earlier this morning. I can't find Phil's post either.
November 5, 200619 yr I hope we find it, I didn't get a chance to print Mike T's post - I wanted to get it framed ...;)Regards'Garett
November 5, 200619 yr google:avsim aces phil fsx forumAt the bottom of the first result, click on "cache". It will load up the whole thread.Bunson
November 5, 200619 yr A copy of Phil's initial posting as well as a discussion about it can be found here: http://www.fs2004.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95173But the link on to the avsim thread on the first page of the discussion does not work anymore...Alex
November 5, 200619 yr The above two fixes both work, but searching for the original post (linked on P-12C Pilot's blog) brings up this message:"The page you requested cannot be displayed. Missing Topic"Pietro.
November 5, 200619 yr Looks like a good time to start a conspiracy theory involving ACES, Phil, TDragger and the subversion of all things FSX ;)
November 5, 200619 yr Well the google cache thing doesn't seem to retrieve the later posts in that thread including Mike T's very eloquent contribution. Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
November 6, 200619 yr Avsim mods, let's get this post restored please as it is imo the most important thread in the forums. Thanks.
November 6, 200619 yr I guess the same thing happened with some other threads in "Flying Clubs" theme. I just went there to check if there are any news on NE Flying Club, and saw several threads absent. Tom? Anyone?
November 6, 200619 yr I agree. The thread had a lot of serious factual information and serious proposals being discussed. In addition to the thorough message Phil Taylor posted, and the responses and questions it generated, tdragger proposed doing away with sliders, for example, and I posted a rebuttal.Surely you keep a back-up, Tom, and can restore this thread. This one was a keeper. Please do what you can to restore it.-Seadog
November 6, 200619 yr Yes it was possibly the most significant thread on FSX since its release.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
November 6, 200619 yr Well! Lets have a copy here...till the original thread is found.Quote:------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi, Let me introduce myself. I am Phil Taylor and I am Senior PM for Graphics and Terrain in Aces Studio. I joined Aces during the end-game of FSX and am now involved in all the studio projects moving forward.I am seeing a lot of threads and a lot of thrashing on this forum, and I thought I would try to address some of the discussions and draw a line in the sand. One big topic of discussion is performance (FPS) and DX10.DX10 by itself isn Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
