Use RTSS if using gsyc to lock your frame at below what you can maintain. For example if you always maintain 46 then lock it at 45. It completely smooths the frame time out, and g-sync behaves much better that way... the frame time is more important than the frame rate in terms of smoothness.

There you go.  In P3D I tried this and it was as smooth for sure, but CPU utilization on the main thread was always maxed out and ran hotter, so back to 30Hz vsync I went.  For Rob and his older hardware, I wonder how things would go if the internal limited in MSFS was set to 30.  I don't know how that limiter works at all but I mention if from reading this comment of Rob's, "My FPS was over 34 with LOD at 200".  What's an acceptable frame time?

Just gotta keep the main core from hitting 100%. After that is achieved then lock the frame with RTSS for consistent frame pacing.

I swear the sim is 22.57% faster for me?

I can tell 100% when I fly my planes!

Yes I understand that, what I don't understand and posed was what if the internal limiter in-sim, in MSFS, w/ a G-sync'd screen, would do in this regard.  I used RTSS as mentioned in order to see if screen refresh at 60Hz was in any way superior, in P3D 4.5, to vsync to 30Hz.  Visually, performance-wise, the answer was nope, not superior.  Plus, as I say the main thread got hammered so there really was no point in using RTSS over vsync to 30Hz.
