October 7, 20205 yr I had issues with the MS Store version (probably caused by the fact I wanted to install it to a drive different from C:). I finally applied for and got money back. Bought the Steam version (Premium Deluxe) which has been working without any issues since, including all updates. Base game installed into my Steam path and Contents to a different (1 TB) drive. Just my experience. Others may differ, of course. October 8, 20205 yr I'd get an Microsoft XBox Gamepass subscription (a service where you pay per month for several PC games) for 1 month for $4.99, which includes the Standard edition of the game, and make sure it's what you want. There are a lot of rough edges at this point and the particular type of flying/simulation you want to do may or may not be rewarding right now, and might be best served by waiting a bit for things to gel. Then if you buy, I'd buy it on Steam because that seems to have less issues associated with it than the MS Store, at least from what I've read. (Note if you take this route, be wary of a page on the Gamepass site where they sell the Deluxe and Premium add-ons to Gamepass users but you don't get the base edition, so if you cancel your Gamepass you're stuck with a useless version and need to re-buy the Standard package....that's why I'd recommend buying it on Steam) AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

If you want to buy the Steam version you obviously need to register with Steam (if you didn't already). The only other thing you require for installing is an X-Box account which you are asked for during installation. (I already had one, I suppose you are offered to apply for one if you don't have one.) This way you get a "gamer tag" which identifies you in the sim (e.g. Multiplayer) and in the official MS forum. Needless to say you also need an X Box account if you install the MS Store version.
