i have two lovers...

Featured Replies

I have two lovers: "msfs and prepar3d"

MSFS gives me almost everything: "wow", every time I cross the clouds and observe the terrain. Reflections, atmosphere, sound. And also a good conversation with its developers.

Prepar3d gives me the actual traffic. We had to work a lot, but PSXseecontraffic, realtraffic, and lorbylivetraffic are GREAT. With prepar3d it is very difficult to converse as a user, but when I see the traffic I keep quiet.

And so I am. I like that airports are full of planes with traffic and real models. With prepar3d, I am seeing a "vueling airlines" pass over my house, and Prepar3d shows it THE SAME. (thanks to psxseecon, realtraffic and lorby)

But prepar3d doesn't give me the clouds and terrain that MSFS has.

Please, if someone belongs to the royal air traffic sect, like me, I would just like to say that we have an important fight to do together. MSFS, please include, if possible, the possibility of adding all the aircraft models that we have used for traffic for years (TFS, FAIB, etc ...)

I am sure that PSX and LORBY will do their best !!!!

at the end of the story, one always stays with one of the two lovers because he truly falls in love.

thanks!

You can get PSXSeecontraffic and MSFS merried

Unfortunately, I didn't find time try to try it myself yet.

Its been two months, wich is nothing considering the lifespan of a sim. I can tell you without a doubt. Its going to happen, just give it time 🙂

Very nice read as to what a lot of us are currently feeling with multiple sims we're currently flying.

With the ultimate goal of having one sim that will eventually give us all the features that all 3 (or so) currently do, its always a passionate debate about which one eventually will.  I don't want this thread to turn into that as I know that was not your intent, instead lets all agree that all sims have their strong and weak points.

The only modifier that will prove the outcome is time.  Starting this second....lets all re-visit this thought of which one has evolved to the point closest to that goal (one sim that does it all).

Fun fact, it takes a fledgling Albatross up to 10 months to learn to fly.  Although it would be fun to gauge where the fledgling flightsim will be in comparison to the old guard sims that have been alive for decades, I think our fledgling sim needs a bit more time than the 'tross. A year from now may be a good time to check for flight status in all weather conditions....and while she may not be ready to fly in a snowstorm or on a super-windy day, her progress, compared to the progress of the sims that have had decades to improve to a point where they can "do it all", may be something to consider to see if their development schedule has been as robust as our year-old fledgling. 🙂

That's what I'm most interested in....how many updates, working towards the much-desired features and elements we've gotten day one from the fledgling sim, are being previewed to the community by the old-guard sims as opposed to how the fledgling has worked on things like AI traffic, ATC, Commercial airliners, avionics, etc.

I don't think anyone can disagree that with this fledgling sim, and all the hardware goodness we see in the news about 3000 series, big Navi, new AMD processors, etc....it is one heckuva' good time to be a simmer! (or a gamer or anything involving computers in general).

Thank you very much for your wonderful reply. I very much agree on everything. Let time slowly do its thing.
That there are people working to make the simulator better is always a gift.
On the other hand, each person uses the simulator for something specific. In my case, the pleasure of escaping from this world flying through the corners that the clouds make and between a real traffic that increases the adrenaline. The feeling of not being alone and at the same time: being alone.
Thank you for answering!
