This situation is just a sign that nVidia priced the cards too low. I don't feel that anyone has any inherent right to purchase a non-luxury at a below-market price. Give it time, they'll become available.

Cheers!

too low??? so you would prefer to see them priced higher? I think the pricing is good. Not like last years turing model (2080ti) for like $1200. That card was word not allowed and a rip-off.

I would prefer to see the things I have and do not want to be priced as high as possible, far higher than the prices for the things I do not have but want. 😄

Bots and inflated resale prices are a clear signal of an MSRP set too low. You can either have a higher price and more availability for (as you put it) "legitimate users" or you can have an artificially low price and problems with bots and availability. Pick your poison.

Cheers

PS: I am also puzzled at this notion of "legitimate users". What makes usage legitimate, beyond not being used for a criminal purpose? If the 3080 is a "gaming" card, and our simulators are certainly not "games", does that make our usage less than legitimate? 🙂

I choose the latter. Although it may be difficult to actually get one. I know I'll eventually get one. I'm not going to pay a ridiculous price for it. That's not why bots plagued this release because the price was set too low. This happens in the fashion world with sneakers and clothes as well. You still have to fight with bots for PS5 and Xbox as well and those consoles are priced accordingly.
