November 3, 20205 yr Author Hello friends, The ideas to use zip or rar to copy my community files all failed. The best useable answer is from fppilot : "And once you find success I highly recommend you begin to use the freeware "MSFS Add on Linker". " (This was later confirmed by others 😊) Then I decided to : - delete every file in Community (it is quite easy to download them from the websites). - get them again from Interrnet - install "MSFS Add on Linker" It works really well and painless, original files remain in the external folder, no need to make a copy. Thanks a lot everybody for your help 😊. Jacky Edited November 3, 20205 yr by VFR_only To be more precise
November 3, 20205 yr or just create a 'disabled' folder within the community folder and move them back and forth when necessary SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

I have been keeping copies of the zip and rar files to fall back on. But in all honesty they are easy to find again online, and when a new version emerges I have to manage my backup copies... One argument however is to keep at least one previous version so you have something to fall back on should a new version turn out to have issues. That has happened to me twice so far. December 24, 20214 yr I have found a way to move all the subfolders in my Community folder, so that MSFS doesn't "see" them: Open the Community folder. Select the first subfolder. Go the next folder up the hierarchy, i.e. select the Packages folder. Create your own new folder (as a subfolder within the Packages folder) and give it a very different name, e.g. name it Removed From Commune. Open the Community folder. Select the first subfolder. Click Ctrl-X to Cut that subfolder out of the Community folder. Go the next folder up the hierarchy, i.e. select the Packages folder. Then select the subfolder Removed from Commune. Click Ctrl-V to Paste the folder you just Cut out of the Community folder. You have now removed that subfolder from the Community folder and saved it in a different folder. Repeat steps 3 through 5 above to move all other subfolders and any other files out of the Community folder and save them in your own new folder. That's it! You have now removed everything from your Community folder, and saved each subfolder into your own new folder, so you have it ready to move back into your Community folder as and when you want to have it back there. If you are doing diagnostics on a problem, you can now select which subfolder to try adding back into the Community folder one-by-one, by simply reversing the Cut and Paste steps above.

December 25, 20214 yr It does not have to be a lot of work. Point your mouse inside the community folder. Now type Control+A. (Control+A means "select all" in any and all Windows programs). Now you have selected ever subfolder in community. Now right mouse click and select copy. Move your mouse to point inside the Removed from Commune folder, right click mouse and select Paste. All the subfolders will now instantly jump from Community into Removed from Commune all at once. ==> Always remember to never forget about Control+A. It always selects everything! 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. December 25, 20214 yr Why make it more cumbersome than necessary, use MFS Add-on Linker, it is the best tool available to organize add-ons, and it is a freeware.
