November 13, 200619 yr Anyone heard from Phil Taylor since the infamous post disappearance last week? I was just wondering what the status is with the info that was covered in that thread that mysteriously disappeared at the most inopportune time and I haven't caught any posts from Phil myself and was wondering if any of you have? I hope he didn't take the opportunity to bow out after the post went *poof*. Did we also get to the bottom of just WHY the post disappeared so as to prevent it from happening again? We need customer go-betweens with MS like Phil and we can't do it if critical posts are going to disappear in the middle of the night.
November 13, 200619 yr You mean the thread that was like 25 pages? He's posted a few of times after that in a few other threads several days ago, but I can't say I haven't seen a much activity by ACES members lately. Although they post here and there on occasion and I don't believe this is the only forum the post at. I think they frequent Simflight and Flightsim, so they are probably kept fairly busy between those, here at Avsim, blogging, and doing their job. But I do wish they had the time to post here a little more frequently. :)Now, Phil said he would give some more info just before or just after Thanksgiving. The other threads I saw him post in were people asking for an update on things he said in that thread, and he posted just to repeat that he said he would give more info just before or just after Thanksgiving in that thread. And speaking for myself, I haven't seen him post anything other than that since. So I think he was trying to send the message, see you around Thanksgiving.Regards,Jim

November 13, 200619 yr When they release a patch.Everyone will be "thanking" them for "giving" us a 20~30 frame increase for a minimum spec ;)Please - this is a total tongue and cheek reply.
November 13, 200619 yr I guess we'll find out what Phil has to say here the USA sooner than y'all down in OZ. Thanksgiving here is November 23rd. You guys have to wait until next May 23 :-) .Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. November 13, 200619 yr Thanksgiving in Oz - you jest. Nearest thing we get to a Thanksgiving is after it rains for most of the continent. November 14, 200619 yr He sent me a private email the other day. They have fixed almost everything. They went ahead and tested it on a 286 and with almost everything maxed (no light bloom though) @400 ft AGL above 34 right, towards the seattle skyline they were getting 25 fps in lock mode. So it should run pretty darn good on a 386 in turbo mode.Any day now.:-jumpy
