CTD: ucrtbase.dll based error on V5.1 [SOLVED]

Why is Visual Studio required?

You do not need the Visual Studio application, you only need the Visual Studio redistributables. The redistributables are a small set of MS libraries that developers who write code using VS need to redistribute with the SW that they have written. That way, end users' machines have access to libraries containing system functions that were used in the SW.

When you search the MS web site for them, be sure to get the redistributables (for the proper year of VS), not the entire Visual Studio product.

Unfortunately this ucrtbase.dll error can have lot´s of reasons. If you google it, you will find multiple pages with this error mentioned.

I had the issue also a while ago and the following did help me (same message sometimes solved with different solutions as the cause was different too):

  • Reinstall P3D Client and rebuild P3D.CFG
  • Reinstall P3D Content and P3D Client and rebuild P3D.CFG
  • Reinstall Visual Studio
  • Reinstall VCRedist (C##) x86 and x64 versions from all available years you can get via Microsoft.com. Addons can also have directories with VCRedist.EXE saved....repair or even reinstall them completely
  • Unplug all USB devices. Restart PC and plug them in one by one
  • Reinstall ASP3D (completely uninstall ALL components - some uninstall questions during uninstall I decided to answer all of them with "uninstall")

ucrtbase.dll must not be an P3D related error, as you can see. Often lot´s of other PC software components can call this error.

Good luck!

Marcus

I did all of this in the exact order that you have mentioned. It made no difference. I still get the UCRTbase.dll crash during climb only in the fslabs a319. Please help. I have got the X86 and X64 versions of VCRedist 2015-2019 and installed the visual studio installer. Please help. If you need any more info let me know please.

You have to download 2005 (if still available), 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 also!

These are important as most certainly there are addons who are using older version of c##

You can not doing anything wrong with these installs.

Have you tried "Delete Generated Files" in P3D Root directory and than run the sim again?

This eliminates all generated files by sim and any addon (config files mostly).

More options I do not recall at the moment. I would love to help you more....but I don´t have any further ideas.

I assume uninstalling and installing FSLabs you tried already?

Marcus

Since this issue only affects FsLabs a319 I have only tried uninstalling and reinstalling that. It seems I have already got all versions of C++ installed since 2005 as they are in the programs and features. I have tried rebuilding the P3D V5 config file many times but to no avail. What do you think?
