  1. I want to use the aviaOverhead on a monitor with native resolution 1600x900 that is connected to the sim PC. However, the aviaOverhead seems to be in square format and scaling the window doesn't scale the panel which leaves me with a lot of black background on my monitor. I must be possible to make the panel fit the monitor aspect ratio even if it comes at the price of a certain distortion. I also want to get rid of the ridiculously unrealistic sun, moon and gear icons which are used to toggle day/night-mode and settings. I realised that in the settings of the aviaOverheadClient one can disable FULLSCREEN and set custom Window Location and Size. However, these value only change the dimensions of the window that contains the panel and not the panel itself. I just want the panel to cover my whole monitor without wasting space. That must be possible somehow. Draci
  2. Yes, but ATC programs usually don't know the runway that it in use in reality (most frequently they decide according to the prevailing wind and have no clue about current runway closures or WIP and the like). Furthermore they don't respect real world taxiway directions and can't control the PSX Traffic at all. Then it can easily happen that you are directed to a (wrong) runway along a taxiway that is used in the other direction in real world. In this case opposite traffic should be deleted way ahead if the user wants to act according to the ATC clearance in order not to destroy the immersion...
  3. Ok, I wasn't aware of that although I read the manual. Must haved skipped this somehow. This is a gamechanger, of course, because I definitely want the Real Traffic radar display but not on the sim computer since this would destroy immersion since it is definitely not an aircraft instrument gauge. Have used this for years now over the network (but only inflight) since you obviously get unrealistiv effects on the ground if PSXTraffic doesn't know the airport layout.
  4. Ok, I didn't think of this problem, thank you for your quick reply. Maybe you could use the direction of travel (velcoity vector of the user aircraft) and only remove aircraft if they enter a certain increased threshold radius around the user aircraft directly from the front (with a certain small angular tolerance), since you obviously want to remove only aircraft that are taxiing on the same taxiway in opposite direction than the user or are parked in the user's direction of travel. This shouldn't be too hard to code or am I mistaken?
  5. Good morning, I have the problem that my PSXTraffic (I use the standalone RealTraffic version with display) is on a different computer in the network than the sim and my add-on airports are on the sim computer on various drives. The automatic detection doesn't work because PSXseeconTraffic quits at launch with the message that it doesn't find the scenery.cfg file under C:\ProgramData which seems logical to me since it is in fact under \\SIMCOMPUTER\\c\ProgramData, but so far I didn't find any parmeter in the parameters file where I can set the path. I would have expected the program to replace all paths relative to the install path of the sim \\LOCAL\ -> \\SIMCOMPUTER\ but this obviously doesn't happen. If I try to set the paths manually in the parameters file as afolderx = ... I have the problem that my add-on folders are in so many different locations that the only reasonable paths to set are the drives on the simcomputer afolder0 = \\SIMCOMPUTER\c afolder1=\\SIMCOMPUTER\e etc. if I don't want to end up in listing hundreds of paths (I guess 10 paths is the maximum anyway) and then hope that the program incrementally searches also in every folder whithin the drives (as stated in the manual) and hope that this doesn't take too long. But also this doesn't work since the program only finds #thirdp: 19 although I have accumulated hundreds of add-on airports during the last 20 years I have been simming (still using PSX with P3D and not MSFS). So what can I do? Any help appreciated.
  6. Good morning, I think that the formula sum of wingspan divided by two leads to unrealistically close encounters of the user aircraft with live aircraft on the ground. Is there a way to increase it? Perhaps in the parmeters file? I would like to try without division by 2 and see if that helps. Best draci
  7. Thanks for your replies. There are many... For example the Malta V2 Airport from Daniel Chircop. The surrounding photoscenery is so ugly if compared to Orbx FTX and the FSX default Luqa Airport.
  8. Hi to all, many add-on airports do not only modify the airport afcad but also the surroundings of the airport. As I like using Orbx FTX and several orbx regions together with these airports, more than often tis looks ugly because the add-on airport sceneries do not blend seamlessly with the Orbx FTX scenery and often include ugly photorealistic patches around the airport fences which (as all photocenery) appear completely flat on the ground or from low altitudes. Sometimes you can identify the .bgl-files which modify the airport surroundings and you can simply switch them to off if you don't want the photoscenery around airports to show, but sometimes the add on airport airport will no longer work if individual files are switched off. So here's my question: Is there a general way how to force FSX to use the add-on airport afcads only without surrounding sceneries and show Orbx FTX scenery around the airport. It would be nice if there was a general method to embed add-on airports into Orbx FTX scenery without the need of fiddling with individual .bgl-files. Regards draci
  9. Thank you for your quick reply, but somehow I have no luck. I still get the beep sound when pressing the DEL key even after several restarts. I've bought the latest version of MCE last week so I assume it should be up to date. Can you confirm that I need to leave "Use DEL key" ticked in the ATC User Interface? bmaik
  10. Hi to all, I'm new to MCE and I'd like use MCE together with PF3 which is now supported but I don't like pushing the default DEL key to communicate with ATC via MCE. I don't like using Joystick buttons for ATC either. But MCE doesn't seem to offer a way to change the default DEL key. My del DEL is already in use for other Add-ons! I would rather like to use the SPACEBAR instead for ATC communications. In the .ini file that MCE placed in my FSX folder there's a VatSimPTT and also an ATCPTT entry. I've tried setting ATCPTT=32 but to no avail. Is anybody out there who can explain to me how I can switch the PTT Key from DEL to SPACEBAR? Any help appreciated. Thank you. Regards, bmaik
  11. Does anybody know where VoxATC reads its weather information from? Recently I've deleted SPIM from FSX as far as possible (which means I've removed everything but the stock ICAO code) and replaced it by SPJC with the identical afcad (renaming its ICAO from SPIM to SPJC, of course!) because SPIM (Jorge Chavez Intl, Lima) changed its ICAO to SPJC in reality. As a weather engine I use Active Sky Next which has a weather station at SPJC in its newest database. However, if I file a flightplan from SPJC to anywhere and start the flight at a gate in SPJC, Active Sky next perfectly recognises that present position is SPJC and correctly injects the current METAR data of SPJC to the sim (this is confirmed by opening the weather tab in FSX and also on Active Sky Weather Gauge). When I start VoxATC, it populates the airport with correct traffic (I use MyTraffic 6 aircraft and modified MyTraffic 6 schedules to use SPJC instead of SPIM) which confirms that VoxATC recognises the SPJC afcad (yes, I DID run the indexer several times!), but unfortunately gives me a completely wrong departure ATIS resulting even in opposite active runway selection! I have no idea why this happens. Does VoxATC have a weather stations database that I should update besides running the indexer? What can it be that I do wrong? Any help from you appreciated since Teggwyn, the developer doesn't answer my support requests! Best regards draci
  12. Hi to all, I need an external frame rate limiter for FSX running in WINDOWED Dx10 mode with RESHADE/SWEETFX overlay: So far, I have tried the following: 1. Nvidia Inspector built-in frame rate limiter 2. MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (Riva Statistics Server) 3. Tommti SSAA-Tool 4. DXTory None of them work for my setting. Does anybody use one of the above successfully with the same setup? Does anybody know of an external limiter that works in my setting? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Best regards draci
  13. Hi to all, I'm using Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX in Windowed DX10 Mode with VSync enabled using Reshade and I can't get the MSI frame limiter to work with this application. I've read in several posts that MSI afterburner frame limiter works in DX10 FSX. I don't care about the on screen display, i just want the frame limiter to work, that's all. I understand that with the Reshade overlay I have to tick CustomDirect3D Suport in the Rivatuner Statistics FSX profile. However, if I set Detect Application Level to anything higher than "None", then FSX will not start when Afterburner is running with a strange error message 38 saying that the text display device cannot be initiated (i don't remember the exact wording). If I set application detection level to "none", the game starts and Reshade is injected correctly, but the frame limiter doesn't work. (frames jumping all over the place, so probably VSync is not working as well?) So I tried setting application detection level to "low" then start FSX with afterburner NOT running and once a flight has loaded, kick in MSI afterburner. Then frames immediately get limited to a ridiculous and unplayable level of 2 frames (having set target 30 fps in Riva Tuner Statistics). Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated because I need to find an external limiter working with FSX and I read in several posts that MSI afterburner can be used to do this. Same problem by the way with Evga Precision tool (which is also based on Riva Tuner, no?). I've also tried the SSAA tool by Tommti Systems which also comes with a frame limiter and of course the NVidia Inspector built-in one, but none of them seems to work. DXtory crashes my FSX already at startup, so if you cannot help to solve my Afterburner problem, perhaps you know an alternative frame limiter for my setting I haven't tried yet? Regards draci
  14. Hi to all, can anybody of you confirm that MSI Afterburner and/or EVGA Precision Frame Rate Limiters work in windowed FSX DX10 mode and using Reshade/SweetFSX on an NVidia Card? I have learned that these limiters have a problem with overlays such as a sweetfx but there is an option "Enable compatibility with modified direct 3D libraries" which can be ticked in order to use these limiters successfully with FSX and sweetx. But for me this doesn't work. It seems that the OSD display cannot be shown in FSX because when I run any of the two limiters before starting FSX I get the error message "Error 28-unable to install message filter". If I start FSX before and fire up Precision or afterburner after starting a flight the frames get immediately locked but not at the value I've set the framerate to be limited (30 fps) but at a ridiculously low value (like 0.8 fps or 1 fps) which makes the game unplayable. If I set the frame limit to a value I can only dream of (like 200 fps) then the frames lock at around 7fps. So they limiters do kind of work, but they lock the framerate far below the value I've set it to be limited. Additionally there is no way to make the On Screen Display show up in FSX for both limiters. The framerate is set to unlimited in FSX internally. Does anybdy have an idea what could cause this strange behaviour? Can it be an add-on (like EZCA) that causes this behaviour? I have tried other external limiters before (NVidia, Tommti SSAA-Tool, etc.) but none of them worked for me so far in my setup with windowed FSX, DX10 and sweetfx. Does somebody know of another limiter that works in this setting? My FSX still suffers from stuttering. None of the .cfg tweaks has helped me to reduce it so far. Best regards draci
  15. I have run the indexer several times
  16. Hi to all, recently Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima changed its ICAO from SPIM to SPJC. To reflect that change I've removed SPIM airport from FSX and replaced it by a new (except from the ICAO identical) airport called SPJC. Here's how I achieved this according to the ADE manual instructions: I opened stock SPIM in ADE, removed everything, saved/compiled empty copy to World Folder and thus made it load before the stock airport, then using the Pro Key of ADE I reopened the stock airport in ADE again, changed the ICAO to SPJC and saved/compiled the airport placing it at high priority in the scenery.cfg. Everything looks ok in the SIM, SPJC recognized and SPIM no longer used. As a traffic program I use MyTraffic6 and for Weather I use ActiveSky Next. I managed to move the MyTraffic Schedules from SPIM to SPJC and Vox successfully uses them (it populates the SPJC airport with traffic) when fired up at my brand-new SPJC. ActiveSky Next has a weather station at SPJC, correctly recognizes my SPJC and injects the SPJC weather to the sim correctly (METAR and FSX weather identical after ASNext weather infusion). However, if I contact Vox ATIS at SPJC I get a completely wrong weather information. Wrong winds, clouds, QNH, etc. Can anybody tell me how I can figure where this wrong weather information comes from? ASNextConnection to Vox is working perfectly at all other airports, I have run the indexer several times (so Vox should know about my new afcad SPJC_ADEX.bgl and the LevelD-Airac NavData Vox uses does contain SPJC-information. Why does Vox still not recognize my SPJC? Any help appreciated. Regards draci
  17. Hi to all, I've recently noticed that I do no longer see the raindrops splashing onto the window pane of the PMDG 747-800i when it's raining, nor do I hear any rain sound anymore. The issue turned up for the first time after have installed the DX10 Fixer so I wonder whether this might be the problem. For textures and sound effects I use REX4TextureDirect + Soft Clouds and it seems that these textures are properly installed. Anybody having an idea what I could try to fix the issue? Which files are responsible for the rain splashing on window pane effect or the rainy sound? Any help is appreciated. Best regards bmaik
  18. I've read on the VoxATC Homepage that Version 6.52 "supports My Traffic 6". So far so good, but what does this mean? Will VoxATC 6.52 respect and use MT6 flightplans or simply use MT6 aircraft. Because VoX generated its own traffic so far, I don't believe that it follows the close to reality flightplans of MT6, but you might prove me wrong... Best regards bmaik
  19. Dear all I’m still working on the parking codes problem almost every day without having found a solution so far. Recently a new idea came up my mind. I have installed a lot of Scenery Products (ORBX, UTX, AddOn-Airports, etc) and use Traffic 360 for AI. All of these products come up with their own AFCAD files for the same airport. In my scenery library they are layered as follows: Traffic360 (top) UTX ORBX Stock When in the Sim I recognized that only the top layered AFCAD is active (usually a Traffic360 Airport Enhancement File which adds some parking spaces and assigns 50+ (!) AI parking codes to the gates). So my idea was instead of editing the stock AFCAD and adding parking codes there, I could try editing the Traffic360-AFCAD file (simply delete the incredibly many parking codes for one of the gates and replace them by the parking code for my airline). I now used AFX instead of ADE to do the editing. I placed the edited file in its own folder in the Scenery folder of FSX instead of the AddOnScenery folder, added this folder with top priority to the scenery library and ran the VOX indexer. Back in the sim I noticed that my edited file was loaded but VoX still didn’t assign me to the gate I set for my airline. Thinking about this led my to the following three questions for which you can hopefully provide an answer Could it be that I add my parking code to the WRONG AFCAD file? I’ve always edited the stock files so far and as described above have also tried editing the Traffic360-AFCAD but to no avail so far. This would be strange, because the edited AFCAD file has highest priority in the Scenery Library and thus it shouldn't matter which AFCAD was edited, right? Can anybody confirm that it is better to place the modified afcads in the scenery folder instead of the AddonScenery-folder? I noticed that VoX ATC did NOT park any AI aircraft at the gate I reserved for my airline which is definitely good news!n So can it be that my traffic settings in VoXATC (currently 80%) are simply too low and if I set them to let’s say 100% VoXATC will be forced to assign the only remaining available gate to me which will of course be the one I’ve previously reserved? Or should the parking codes work with any VoX traffic slider setting? Any remedy for this neverending pain appreciated! Best regards bmaik
  20. Thank you Steve, unfortunately, my cloud-density slider is set to max and texture_max_load is at 4096! The cloud_coverage_density in FSx.cfg is set to 12. Should i try even higher values? Which is the highest value it does accept? Because I want to use both my installed graphic cards for FSX I start FSX under a different name to allow crossfire (crysis.exe). Both my fsx.cfg and crysis.cfg files are identical and contain the aforementioned values. Could this be the problem?
  21. Hi to all, I use ASNext weather engine and I remember that it worked perfectly when I installed it about a year ago. Recently I've installed a lot of Orbx Scenery and installed REX4 with Soft Clouds and the DX10fixer andwhich initially did not work because my shaders folder was not original anymore. So, I replaced the shaders folder by the original FSX folder a collegue of mine sent me and the DXfixer worked without any problems. No more greyed out options. However, as a negative side-effect my clouds look ugly and when ASNext reports overcast skies I can't get more than a light broken coverage (eg 5/8 or so).t. On the other hand when ASNext reports BKN I get at most a SCT sky with at maximally 2 cloud layers. This is very disappointing and unrealistic. The same happens if I use FSX defaklt weather which indicates that it is not an ASNext problem but more likely something wrong on the texture/shaders level. I double checked that the REX textures are in fact installed into FSX without problems which makesme believe that the DX10fixer could be the culprit, so could it be that my DX10Fixer settings are wrong or should I reinstall my old shaders (which would cause the DX10fixer not to work anymore)? I'm running out of ideas and any help is appreciated. Best regards bmaik
  22. Does anyone have an idea what I do wrong? 1. Do I have to reload the aircraft in FSX? My standard flight is configured to use my preferred aircraft, for which I want to use the parking code. This aircraft is already selected whenever I fire up FSX. Because I exclusively fly this aircraft, I haven't touched the aircraft selection option for years. Can it be that somehow VoxATC reads an old aircraft.cfg? 2. Can it be that parking codes do not work with the PMDG 747-800 i ? This is my preferred aircraft, unfortunately it is only a remodelling of the underlying PMDG 747-400X and shares its aircraft.cfg with it. Although there is a PMDG 747-800i section under [fltsim.3], could it be that VoX only respects the very first entry for parking_codes (which is for the PMDG 747-400X in [fltsim.0] ? 3. Or can it be that I miss something when updating the afcad-file in ADE? I usually load the stock airport, then double-click onto the gate I want to set parking_codes for and in the pop-up dialogue manually enter RFP in the parking-codes line. Is it essential that I also set my airline in the "airlines" or "MCDU airlines" list? What does MCDU airline mean btw? Any help is appreciated, it drives me mad that I still don't get it to work although so many posts (and also Tegwyn) confirm that it should work. bmaik
  23. Thank you Mario and watin for your valuable help. unfortunately both versions (6.50/6.49) give me winds calm in both the departure and the arrival atis, no matter where I am and what winds are actually set by ASNext. I have no clue what could cause this and do not get an answer from vox aupport at all (it's over a week now since i have written my first email to vox support)
  24. Mario, can you send me version 6.50? That would be better than nothing, because that's the one I skipped. Many thanks, bmaik
  25. Hi, after sending 5 email support queries to voxatc support via different channels ([email protected], [email protected], website form) without getting an answer I ask myself whether others are experiencing the same problem. This seems strange to me regarding the fact that Vox support enjoys an excellent reputation. Thanks for any clarification, bmaik
