Flickering shadows in cockpit.

Featured Replies

I think this started after update 5. Imense flicker of shadows in cockpit. Specialy in the 787 and A320. Anyone other have this issue?

Only flying the modded neo and yes had that too. But I have not seen it for a while now and did not change any settings. Which I would expect to drive asobo crazy as I see very few reproducible errors. They come and go after a restart, reboot or reload without particular „pattern“

Try shadow maps to 2048

Better still set shadows to 8192 in the UserCfg.opt  file if you have a gpu with enough v ram.

Mick

I used to have 8192 but I have now reverted to 4096 as the sweet spot, as they actually looked a bit too sharp around the edges at 8k, and maybe unnatural looking like that - you just can't please some people! 😁

PS, there seems to be two types of shadow you get in the cockpit.
The ones that can be adjusted as above (which is a worthwhile adjustment in my view), and others that always seem to look a bit feathered around the edge (you sometimes see them on the wing spars of the C172 etc.) - I have not found how to adjust them yet.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
