How to disable automatic logbook activation?

Whilst I do not see how a log book that every real life pilot needs to fill out every flight is an "immersion killer"

Not so much the logbook itself but the fact that it is thrown in your face while you are shutting down your engines and thus ending the flight before you could work the last checklists. Even in real life I avoided to fill out the logbook in the crammed cockpit, as doing so "on the fly" was prone to errors and bad handwriting. I think the logbook is a neat feature but it should not pop up by itself - a small fix for ASOBO and another huge step towards simulation. They mentioned upcoming fixes in the latest Q@A, but it was not clear if that was about wrong or missing entries or the pop-up. We'll see....

In the real life - do you complete your logbook entry in the middle of your shutdown checklist, just after the engine stop?

...but could think again about it if a good looking 3d flight attendant modell hand it over while wispering things in my ear 😉

To remove that tool bar when the mouse moves, check out https://github.com/kaosfere/msfs-toolbar-nohandle

You can still bring up the toolbar items by manually moving the mouse to the top center of the screen, but it will no longer just pop up on it's own from simply having the mouse move.

thx for the headup, il try it out 🙂

Perhaps ASOBO should consider two different modes.

1. simulation mode - For the die hard flight simmer

2. game mode - for those wishing to use the program for gaming purposes.

I would think that gamers are more interested in accumulating POINTS, toward the next available ranking, where as, simmers are more interested in more realistic flight operations, from pre-flight through shut down of the aircraft according to known standards or practices, including completing your log book.

I personally do not care about game ranking, but do care about pre-flight of the aircraft, checklists and log books. I personally have all my flight time kept in an Excel document (log book), https://easypilotlogbook.com/.
