November 21, 200619 yr Hi Geof,I followed your flight yesterday on FlightAware.>I had filed to an airport 9A4 for a fuel stop due to cheap>fuel prices I had researched.I wondered why you chose 9A4 as a stopping point. I thought perhaps you'd been there before or had friends there. Then I used the FlightAware features to explore the airport and noted the gas price. I guessed that is why you chose 9A4.>I cancelled my ifr and entered a>downwind for 9A4 when the unicom operator came on and said if>I was landing for fuel -they didn't have any! I circled a few>times deciding where to go and then headed for Kmsl-where I>did get fuel but not as cheap. It is interesting to note that FlightAware became quite confused when you diverted. I believe (I'll check this later) that they still showed you as a 9A4 arrival and showed (after a longish "no report" period) arriving there. I was puzzled by your next leg starting at KMSL. Not being a RW pilot I thought that perhaps this was what an IFR FP look like if it was filed enroute.Good luck on your return trip. I'll be watching. R-
November 21, 200619 yr The reason flightaware gets confused is I cancelled my ifr in the air-once that happens it doesn't track you anymore and so diverting to msl didn't show up. Anyway -looks like perfect flying weather other than the goodside of yesterdays tailwinds being headwings today. I'll catch you later tonight!Geofhttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
November 22, 200619 yr Ron-I posted a few in the screen shots forum in case you are interested in what the route looked like. Interesting-the Mississippi valley looks a little like the fsx "desert" lol!http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=1735&page=http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
November 22, 200619 yr That's a very well thought out and worded well response Allcot, Now prove it. Respectfully, Craig
November 22, 200619 yr I did a couple of missions today, including a few from FSXMission.com, and had a ball too. The toughest one was the second helicopter mission where you fly up the side of the mountain through boxes and then back down again, before finally landing on the moving ship! I did this on a spanned desktop of 3360x1050 using TrackIR4 with the VC and global settings on ultra high. It was a very pleasurable experience indeed, with quite acceptable performance. I even managed to land on the moving ship first go (although not the second time I tried)! These new missions certainly add a new and positive dimension to the flight sim experience and, as places like FSXMission get more and more mission contributions from the user community, it'll just get better and better!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
