November 19, 200619 yr Geofa I tried the link nothing came up was there a typo or is the site down right now?Got to go with you OP love the missions the do add something to FSX.
November 19, 200619 yr Try http://fsxmission.com/live/By the way-for a mission idea: Gotta fly a 1800 nm roundtrip in the Baron to pick up your son from college for the holidays . However, when you test flew the plane on a short trip yesterday-the left alternator gave out due to a faulty installation. Luckily the mechanic was on the field at the time and said he would try to fix it early tomorrow so you can get on your way. You have a fuel stop planned-but of course that might change due to weather/headwinds, and you also have a choice of diverting to another city slightly out of the way where you have family you can stay with. Of course the alternator might not work after being "fixed"-needing a return to the home field or a diversion elsewhere, and maybe something else not anticipated could happen. You might change your mind (since making the return trip back Tuesday) and just go to a different city for the night Monday that has more fun to offer-then make the short 20 minute flight Tuesday from that city to make the pickup and then home. Decisions, decisions, and maybe some that won't even be anticipated...the beauty of missions. I don't know about scheduled carriers but I always feel every flight is an adventure-that is what makes it so fun!By the way-you can follow my real mission on flightaware.com-leaving hopefully Monday 11/15 at around 9am- N7345R.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
November 19, 200619 yr >I know what Alcott means. Now I'll make a very provocative>statement: I'd call people willing to compromise to fly at 15>FPS "eye-candier" and not "simmers". :-sae >>Marco>>>Yes, I plead guilty as charged m'lud! :-lol For me I get the most pleasure in what I see out of the window when travelling from A to B rather than pleasure simply in travelling from A to B. Does that make sense?
November 19, 200619 yr Argentine Mission:A very nice mission, but I fail to land at the Ski Lodge. I always get a prop strike (I think) by landing uphill. What is the proper technique for such landings?Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
November 20, 200619 yr I think the most amazing feature of FSX is it's abilty to have made me not want to go out and buy it:-lolCybersimmer
November 20, 200619 yr The Maule Orion. Just love it. Custom quality VC, high visibility cockpit, fun to fly. The Orion saves me from having to buy a payware, low and slow prop plane for fooling around and sightseeing. Love the nightime snowstorm flights over crowded highways. Makes me think of home. ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
November 20, 200619 yr I think incorporating missions into FSX is awesome. However, I'm a bit put off by some of the default missions. Its like EVERY time I do a mission, I'm 100% certain that there is going to be a failure of some sort. We definitely need a lot more missions that make full use of FSX and the world. One of the VAs in Aust (probably same as the rest of the world) actually uses FSPassengers as part of the VA so that you get graded on your flights and earn money (and 'penalties' for sloppy flying) which adds a new dimension. When I used to fly VAs in FS9, noone really cared much about if/when I got there and/or whether I 'shortcut' in order to land on time. Atleast using something like this adds a new dimension to flying. We definitely need more chopper missions eg. air ambulance, ferry, S&R, corporate flights, etc etc.

November 20, 200619 yr >Did you get this?>http://fsxmission.com/live/modules.php?nam...op=getit&lid=64Hi Geof,Yes I did, but that fixed airfield (El Maiten) was not my problem. It's the last one (Ski Lodge) which gives me a headache.Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
November 20, 200619 yr FS Passengers has a random failure feature, and even tells you how good a job you did of dealing with it. I believe there is a patch coming out shortly to make this program work in FSX.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 21, 200619 yr Just as an update and why "missions" can be very real.On my 900 nm real mission yesterday several things happened much like a fs mission.I had filed to an airport 9A4 for a fuel stop due to cheap fuel prices I had researched. With the 37 knt. tailwinds much of the way I thought several times about diverting to my final airport but decided it still would be pushing too much the fuel reserves and the fuel after all was cheapter at 9A4 than my final destination. I cancelled my ifr and entered a downwind for 9A4 when the unicom operator came on and said if I was landing for fuel -they didn't have any! I circled a few times deciding where to go and then headed for Kmsl-where I did get fuel but not as cheap. On my next flight-the atis at btr had cautions for birds and I heard a king air report that they had had a bird stike on a wing but there appeared to be no damage. There were lots of birds on the way in-luckily none close to me.... On final standing in front of the runway threshold were two people standing staring at us as we went not that far above them(I wish I could have gotten a shot!) -we reported this to the tower just in case but they were just workers working on the lights enjoying the close view. Missions do give the abilities for these real world scenerios. On my way back home in a couple hours-more adventures await!http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N7345R Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
