November 29, 20205 yr Four screenshots of a dusk flight from EIDW Dublin to EGPN Dundee in my PMDG Boeing 737-600. Turning at the Isle of Man VOR, with a coastal section of Earth Simulations Isle of Man visible from the captain's window (close to Port Erin). Flying north-east over ES Isle of Man, with Sulby Reservoir and dam visible beneath my left wing. Cruising above a wind farm in southern Scotland. Approaching my final destination, with the Firth of Tay, city of Dundee, the Tay road bridge, and the lights of Dundee airport in the distance. An AI Eurofighter Typhoon departed RAF Leuchars directly beneath me just before this screenshot was taken. November 29, 20205 yr Great shots Chris! Love this little Boeing hot rod. I only painted a one 600 (Austrian) for the official release ....mostly focused on 700s when PMDG was prepping that package for release. However I did paint this unofficial retro ANZ with metal engines for a friend.....its yours if you're gonna' do some flights in that beautiful area of the world and want a snazzy livery to take screenshots with. 😉 (this was by far my favorite ANZ livery, was happy to paint it) Here is the Austrian. 🙂 I really like this livery as well Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
November 29, 20205 yr Nice to see the -600. Thanks for the post...!! (PMDG 600/700 "DVD" was my first ever serious jetliner SIM...🙂...I recall...) Good narrative, too, here...(I have been roaming Orbx Scotland in the recent past, including the Firth of Tay area...)...
November 30, 20205 yr Author I can get the -600 into some of the smaller regional airports, and in fact I rolled out well short of the end of Dundee's 1400 metre runway (and that was with thrust reversers only down to 75 knots, and then manual braking after disengaging the reversers. I reckon that I probably got it down to taxi speed in barely 1000 metres, which opens up some very interesting possibilities for even smaller airports. In fact, I can actually get this plane to (just about) maintain final approach speed at EGLC London City on that 5.5 degree glideslope if I extend the speedbrakes to maximum. This is easily my favourite version of the 737, and my next (early morning) flight in it will be from EGPN Dundee down to EGSU Duxford. I should get lots more stunning views of the UK landscape as the Sun slowly rises above the horizon. Part of the reason for posting these screenshots was to show that Earth Simulations products do actually work in P3Dv4. I have the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Isles of Scilly installed (I replaced ES Alderney with the ORBx version, and ES Shawbury Fields has of course been superseded by ORBx TrueEarth GB South). Having said that, I think that those two ES packages would have been at least the equal of the ORBx products in the visuals department. Earth Simulations were a shining light in the flight simulation industry, and I do not mind admitting that I miss them I recently considered the possibility of switching to P3Dv5, but this flight actually made me think again. Do these ES scenery packages work in the new version? If not, then that is another BIG reason for me to stick with P3Dv4 until ORBx wake up and provide the flightsim community with those replacements that they promised (plus Jersey as the icing on the cake) EDIT: On a side note, there must be a way of removing those red "Spot View" messages at the upper right. I will need to check the settings.....
