December 3, 20205 yr It seems as if the time is near to move from V4.5 to 5.1. Christmas is approaching and there may be money available from Santa! Sorry if this has been asked before but which "standard" programs (FSUIPC, GSX, PMDG, Orbx, AS, etc) need payable upgrades as opposed to their being free Thanks in advance. December 3, 20205 yr Hi Ian, Out of the list you mentioned, I believe the full version of FSUIPC would require purchase. There was a new version developed/released. For GSX, PMDG, Orbx, there have been free upgrades available for their add-ons if you were already using P3Dv4.x versions For Active Sky, the new ASP3D was available in Beta version and if you had a registered account for the Beta, the upgrade was free. For others not participating in the Beta, there is I believe a 30-35% discount for previous AS customers with the previous version. AIG OCI also freely available and supports P3Dv5 as well as P3Dv4 I might add. On the scenery side it s a bit of a mixed bag. Some developers have applied upgrade fees to their products for the move from v4 to v5 and others have provided free updates to make their sceneries P3Dv5 compatible. Hope that helps. December 3, 20205 yr Author Thanks Mark, That does help a lot. Scenery and airports I am not too worried about, so long as I could get 5.1 up and running with what I basically have. December 3, 20205 yr There is still a freeware version of FSUIPC if you don't use its higher level functions.
