CYKZ Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport is released

Recommended Posts

I flew rotary wing based there in the early 1980s and grew up in the area. Just purchased from your site. If you should ever be inclined to to Parry Sound (CNK4) I would buy. Dave

Oh, you have to sign up?

It's an online store, so you have to fill in normal details for the order, the payment is via PayPal. You have an option to sign up for the mailing list to get update notifications, but you can opt out of that.

Hi,

I am from Montréal and i visited Toronto before going to Niagara fall 3 years ago and your work is amazing.

Do you plan to redo or improve Niagara Falls, Marineland, casinos, Whirlpool Aero Car, etc ... it would be a nice plane ride from Toronto

see you

I have a free Niagara enhancement pack on my site that does just that. But I need to update it, as the falls are fixed in the last MSFS update, and the Rainbow bridge is also included, so I have to remove those and tweak the falls night lighting. Coming soon.

This is your own work? I mean, did you design the buildings yourself or did you download them from Google? If the latter, is that legal? I'm genuinely curious. I have no problem using assets from other products for my own personal scenery experiments, but I'd be nervous about releasing those projects to the public unless the assets were under Creative Commons or some other "free to use" license.

CNC3 and CYKZ airports that I am selling are completely my own work. Hand-modelled in Blender, every little detail. Textured with custom PBR materials with Photoshop work, then the airport is rebuilt from the ground up in MSFS Scenery Editor. In CNC3 there are 3 WWI plane models at the museum that I adapted from free models found online under Creative Commons license (so all legal), but those are minor details. There is no Google models in sceneries I'm selling. There are 3 free Toronto area enhancement packs on my website that are done with Google data, but I am not selling those and they will remain free.

Thanks Roman great work,  I have a question.  When I fly around Toronto your buildings....like the man/woman buildings in Mississauga look good from a distance...you can see the shape, however, when I turnaround and fly toward downtown Toronto, the CN Tower is OK but so many other buildings and the skyline are pyramid shaped buildings....how is this problem fixed, it really ruins the experience.  I don't mind if they are not in focus but please at least look like the right shape.

The "pyramid" shapes are MSFS building, not my buildings 🙂 If you remove my Toronto pack it will be the same, only CN Tower will also become ugly and you can see that from quite far away. It's a known problem, this is how MSFS handles photogrammetry LOD. My buildings in downtown core are CN tower (which I replaced for exactly that reason - it became ugly too close in default MSFS) and Bloor One building. the rest of them are farther from downtown: Midtown, Uptown, North York etc.

Scrolling down was not something that occurred to me 😉

also.. I got two versions of Toronto in the confirmation email... is that intentional? (V2.2 and 2.4)

No need to scroll down, buttons to buy are right on top of the homepage contents, under the banner. But I added the "store" menu, because if you had this problem, so will others.

I left both files accessible because 2.4 removed all CYKZ enhancements to make room for my CYKZ, so you have to use this one if you bought CYKZ. But if you didn't and still want some CYKZ enhancements (stock library objects like tower and hangars used instead of the default uglies) you can use v2.2

Hi Dave, I got your email. Enjoy the airport! I’m starting my work on CYYZ Pearson now. It’s difficult to find detailed photos or drawings for the terminals etc. So I will be busy with Pearson but after that I will likely do other smaller airports. I will keep CNK4 on my list to decide what do I do later. It’s difficult to judge demand, and there has to be a demand to make it worth the huge amount of time required to produce a good airport. So thank you for purchasing, it helps me get going… I'm just a single guy and it takes a lot of work...

I'm deciding what to do for the next project. I want to do a larger airport that can accept airliners. Difficult decision. Heavily leaning towards CYYJ. It's tough to find one that is not in production by one of the larger companies...

no no do CYOO so the triangle is complete

I'm now working on CYOW Ottawa International Airport at full speed. But once it's released, the next project will almost certainly be CYOO. And certainly it will the next GTA airport I do. It's a very good candidate and need much love.

Yay!!!!!

Can't wait for it! Anticipation is killing me. Time for my mantra: Patience is a virtue.
