FSX and reality-xp integration

Featured Replies

I have FSX and just purchase the reality-xp garmin 430 simulator add on.  I can not seem to find the program for adding the 430 to my FSX aircraft.

Help

Welcome!

Have you read the RXP GNS User manual?

If you installed the 430 and the Garmin GNS Trainer, you should have an RXP dropdown in the FSX Addons menu.

BTW, there is a Reality XP support forum on Avsim 😉

I have read the manual and can not figure out where the add-on menu is located or how to get to it.  Is it within FSX or somewhere else.

Within FSX, top of the screen menu bar,  "Addons" option.

Push ALT to get the menu bar to show.

That really helps knowing to press the alt key. I was able to set up my gns430. The documentation in the manual was not clear as to whether I should choose a 430-1 or a 430-2. I also told it that I wanted to see it in the virtual cockpits one, two and three. Once I had it set up I had to close out of the program and then come back in in order for the 430 to show up as a pop-up window. I pressed shift and clicked on the top of the screen and was able to connect it to my HSI. I was able to get everything set up for my flight. When I right clicked on my screen and selected the virtual cockpit my Garmin 430 disappeared and I cannot figure out how to get it back. None of these things are covered in the manual. sure would be nice if they were.

Sounds like you are getting there... but not sure what you are expecting..

Which airplanes do you fly?

For the default airplanes, the GNS430 can only be added as a popup window, not integrated into the panel..

You can typically select the popup window with shift+n.. where n is anything from 1 to 9..

However, many addon airplanes offer an integration option 😉

I have been using the Beech Baron with regular King radios.

I was able to finally get it to work so I bought a new Windows 10 computer with a 27 inch screen.  I uninstalled the rality-xp from my laptop and installed it in the new computer.  As I set it up it initially worked, but when I went back in to tweak the settings I would click on add ons with reality-xp and a window would open and then stay black and never respond.  I would have to reboot my computer and then come back in.  I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and after a whole evening of doing this it said that I had violated the license and needed to contact the vendor to make it work.

This is the closest that I can find for contacting the vendor.  Seems really difficult with no actual email contact to address the situation.

You seem to have a lot of bad luck.. but repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling is not going to help much, I would think.

Suggest you post in the RXP support forum and then describe where you are at.  Is the gauge currently installed etc..
