I started the sim today and all airports look like this. There are also grass on runways.

Anyone else have this issue?

Wow!  No, I have not seen that.  What is the location in the photo?

I bet there is a 50% chance it will go after a restart - I hope! 🙂

That's tehran, Iran. Restarting hasn't worked.

I may have to reinstall the sim.

I will pick a flight there now.  I would try rebooting the PC before all the trouble of reinstalling - it takes so long and we could do with tracing the fault.

I will report back from a Tehran flight in a few minutes.

I can report that Mehrabad International, district 9, and the surrounding area (Azadi tower etc.)is fine for me - flat.  (it was a  lovely and detailed area to fly around also, with the backdrop of the mountains.  It is surprising what you can find in this sim!)

You may be able to trigger a repair install, which will just replace the damaged file (land height / mesh).
The way you do it will depend on if you have the steam or MS store version.
I have never done it so you may need to google how to do that unless someone else can help, but I believe it is just your mesh data that needs replacing.

Thank you for checking that. I just started a reinstall now.

Yes it's very high detailed area in the mountain and the whole country. Much better than USA in most areas.

Here are some other shots from the north and south part.

I would empty the rolling cache.

That might fix it.

In the Data part of settings I seem to remember.

Truly beautiful!  I must fly there.  The land data seems quite detailed in the sim.

When I flew around the airport I noticed some of the ground next to the airport does go up and down quite a bit (Fath and Lashkari highways), so I think your mesh data may have become corrupted and 'shuffled' over a bit, or it may be something more drastic of course.

I hope the reinstall corrects it for you. 👍

By the way, I had your autumn tree pack installed, so that has definitely not caused any issues.  There is no way it could really as they are a completely separate set of files.  Unless you set tree roots to 1000000% 😁

PS. A good shout from 177B above - I don't use any caching any more.  Too many stutters and other problems.

Thanks. Good suggestion and I did try that but didn't work.

Over at flightsim.to someone just today has just done the Azadi Tower and Milad Tower.

It looks like a beautiful city.  It is a shame about the current situation.  I am sure a lot of people would love to travel there.

You know, it's funny that I  just saw that azadi tower and downloaded it and I went to fly and that's what I saw. Hmm. I wonder if that mod had anything to do with it.

Yes I grew up in that city and left when I was 14.

It's a shame what has happened as you said.

Yes, I just noticed your name on there.  I wonder if it has something to do with it also.  If it was the scenery, maybe simple removing it from the community folder would have fixed it.

As for the situation, I hope it is different in my lifetime and that I get to travel in the area; it looks so interesting and the amount of culture and history isn't truly appreciated.  I have only scratched the surface and it is amazing.

I hope the reinstall works! 👍  I may try the towers myself later.  I notice you told him about the Azadi Tower siting slightly above the ground.  We may have something else to report back to Masih! 🙄

Thanks so much.  I'll report back in few hours.

Well, I can report that the towers are fine for me.  I had his version 1.0

The Azadi tower is not quite sitting on the ground as you say, and some nice night lighting on the towers would be good, but other than that, they have not upset the rest of the scenery, and the Mehrabad International runways are flat (I landed there in the end), so it must be something else causing the ripples.

By the way, he has just finished Persepolis.

A reinstall seems drastic, there must be an easier way to solve this problem.
