December 18, 20205 yr I am at a loss. I have a brand new computer, and I have been installing addons for about a week now. Out of nowhere, P3d starts, but never makes it past the splash screen. I have tried deleting the p3d.exe file, the dll.xml file, and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the P3d Client. Also, i noticed that it says in the task manager that it is running "very high." I have no idea how to solve this issue. Any ideas would be appreciated. Now i am getting the following error: “The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.” Cheers, Pete Edited December 18, 20205 yr by PilotPete99 Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot
December 18, 20205 yr Pete, Have you tried a complete uninstall and re-install of P3D - not just the client? Have you tried to repair using SFC/scannow? This error appears to be generated when certain files are corrupted. December 18, 20205 yr I've had P3D hang or CTD in the past right after installing sceneries...it turned out to be a misbehaving installer that left a blank entry, duplicate or entry out of order, etc in one of the scenery config files. The Lorby-SI P3D Addon Manager will make quick work out of sorting a lot of those issues out for you. And when I do mass installs during a rebuild, I take a snapshot of the config files with Addon Manager after every 2-3 so that i can get back to a place where it worked without starting over if an installer *really* boogers things up. Deleting the Prepar3D.exe file isn't going to take you to a good place. More than likely that OS error is because you deleted something you shouldn't have. Never seen anything like "running very high" in TM before. I have seen a few PC sales people in the big box stores that met that description, though...
